@Buckaroo: i think i will finish the black version first...after all it is only my first skin.

EDIT: i might be done in 2 days, or maybe at 3 in the morning...i dunno. thanks for the comments though!

Great theme but one thing bothers me, the Start Menu says "Menu" even when using the minimal version. I think it might look nicer if it just had the icon, with no text (like Opus OS).

- EDIT -

There appears to be a lot of space around icons, see attached image (top is Codename: Opus 2.5, bottom is Opus OS)

It's not a program, it's just Windows. Double click on the title bar and then resize it to the size you want, then it'll always go to that size.

i'm working on a black version right now..IMO it looks good, but b0se be da man here is a VERY early SS

Very nice job! I'll use it if he adds it in. Make sure that everything else looks as perfect as that or else he won't include it! But I'm rooting for you :D

Thanks for the bug reports! I'll get onto them..

The reason the inactive options are faint is due to me wanting soft seperators on the explorer windows, but, its not practical like that so I will change that first (Y)

PD: The black version looks nice, tiny preview though, but I appreciate its very early yet :?) Good luck!

i have a grand idea. why don't you allow b0se to make the skin the way he wants it to be and then you decide if you want to use it as is? i very seriously doubt b0se is making this skin for anyone in particular. a person makes a skin to appear the way he envisions it. if an end-user likes or dislikes the finished product, then it's up to the user to use it or not to use it. you can't expect b0se or any other skinner to make or alter skins to suit each and every person who posts on forums. let b0se, brewman, kol, spyglass, and the other quality skinners make their skins without the constant 'add this' and 'add that' comments. if b0se wants a certain color, he'll add it. pandering to requests in here is not something he wants to do, i'm sure. bugging him on msn to say 'add a black skin' is just plain rude and totally out of line. if anyone wants a certain color, learn to use the app used to build the skin and make it yourself. b0se had to learn. maybe that will be your avenue of learning and you'll soon become a skinner who everyone makes demands of.

Well said, Pas, thanks :?)

I can't add everyones requests, and as mentioned, I have my own style which I put into my themes...

Thats why, em3, you'll never see colours like you used in your screenshot. I find them bright and obtrusive. They remind me of Luna, which I've always called 'My-First-Operating_system', due to the bright gordy colours which seem to be designed for a childs toy.

Also inactive selections are a little too dim, hard to read them. See attached image (left is Codename: Opus 2.5, right is Opus OS)

Agreed, this is my problem with it. Not "too gray" as someone stated earlier, but the active menus and windows appear inactive. The shades of active & inactive are identical as far as I can tell, and the shaded parts of Outlook are really tough to distinguish. I feel like I'm working in a background program...

Wish I knew how to theme - I love the titlebars and little details, but my eyes are getting tired working with the main windows... Great work per usual b0se, hope the suggestions aren't coming so fast as to scare ya away :D

I think it's fine the way it is, I mean it's inactive anyway, so why does it have to be completely readable? I think it's funny that he (b0se) takes time out of his life to put these things together, and it's never really good enough for ppl. Ever heard the expression "beggers can't be choosers". I mean pointing out bugs is one thing, but asking for more and more and more is just wrong. Just an opinion tho, no offense.

here..

Handy :?) Thanks

I'm going to add a new colour (no, not black so be quiet) ;?)

Its called Dusk, and its non-grey since I love the Julie Wooh wallpaper, I made it to match it...

Its toolbar buttons and taskbar buttons are the same style as normal buttons, so its softer.

    • The current Statcoungter desktop numbers has Google Chrome increasing it's market share this past year and currently commanding 75% share. Everybody else is just making up the numbers with even MS Edge losing 3% this past year and has dipped just below 10% share which is staggering considering it's default on every Windows deviced purchased. If these numbers are correct that terrible Edge number is both devastating and embarrassing for MS especially when you add in the terribly low Bing market share. This leads me to ask a couple of questions as the default browser holding just less than 10% market share seems really weird. It used to be that all Chromium browsers were being counted as Google Chrome in some cases.  Is this still happening? Do these high Google Chrome numbers contains some Edge user numbers?
    • Yeah, all web browsers seem to have some junk in them these days. The regular Brave browser has a lot of unnecessary stuff in it, similar to Microsoft Edge, so I don't see any benefits of using Brave over Microsoft Edge if you already have Microsoft Edge fully set up with ad blockers and that. The cleanest or best free browser outside of 'Microsoft Edge' I’ve tried so far is 'Samsung Browser'. It has very little bloat and is a nice-looking web browser with an inbuilt 'Ad blocker'. I also really like the web browser called 'Floorp' that is based on Firefox. This browser can also install Chrome extensions. I have a system wide Ad blocking program for Windows 11 that doesn't just blocks ads in the web browser, but over the whole system. I don't really need a web browser with an inbuilt ad blocker because of that.
