configure Veteran Posted September 28, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 28, 2001 There's nvidia linux driver available, but for your network card, you might want to check a model and brand, then check out if kernel has a support for it, if not, you can use third-party NIC card driver. Your soundcard is prolly supported by kernel, but you can also use ALSA if you want.

configure Veteran Posted September 28, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 28, 2001 Mandrake has Geforge 2MX on in their "known-hardware-list" and it should work fine without compiling driver from nvidia.. Goodluck :D

configure Veteran Posted September 28, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 28, 2001 You can download the iso and burn it, if you want. Or if you have a slow connection, you might want to buy a CD instead :p For more info, check out: http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/ I don't know about TurboLinux, but other Redhat-base distro such as SuSE, Mandrake support your VGA Card. I'm not saying that other distro doesn't support, you can get any distribution you want, and grab a driver from nvidia homepage and follow the instruction in the HOWTO document that they provide. I think TurboLinux is based on Redhat too, I don't know if they have support for this card.. :p

configure Veteran Posted September 29, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 29, 2001 Win Linux load Linux from Windows. But I don't recommend you to use it, go for those 'normal' linux and do a dual boot ;)
