Modifying MSC files like Device Manager

When you right click a msc file like devmgmt.msc (Device Manager), you can choose Author Mode which allows you to modify, add/remove snap-ins and save the file.

You can also open a msc file with the Command Line Parameter /a (Start -> Run... -> devmgmt.msc /a).

This applies to all msc files.

In the Options menu (File --> Options) you can change the Icon, the Console mode & Save settings.

When you want the Device Manager to always show the 'Hidden Devices'; select View --> Show Hidden Devices and save the file. :)

Here is an example of adding snap-ins.

It is a modified compmgmt.msc file (Computer Management) and I have added Local Computer Policy, Security Templates & Component Services.
