eth3l
I recently installed a hom networkp. XP on both machines. They conenct through DSL on lets call it "Machine 1" Becasue of the way the building is designed there is no way to run an RJ45 . . .well there is but the client sucks and wants to run wireless. In anyevent I cannot get a good signal on Machine 2. The problem is I need to boost the signal from the wireless router. Here is a link to the product we are using: http://www.linksys.com/Products/product.as...rid=22&prid=173. We are using a linksys WMP11 wireless card in Machine 2. The client is really getting on my last nerve with this and I would love to find a way to boost the signal. any ideas? thanks
Geronimo
If you are dealing with a client have them step up into a more commerial grade product. I usually use Enterasys Wireless products for clients. I know of some mods that you can do to the linksys but is really mcguyverish (sp?) Here are the products i use when setting up a client office on the small scale >25 http://www.enterasys.com/products/items/RBTR2/ -R2 unit http://www.enterasys.com/products/items/RBTR1/ -R1 unit http://www.enterasys.com/products/items/CS...xD-AA/#ordering -Anteanne extender sounds like this is what you need http://www.enterasys.com/products/items/CS...xD-AA/#ordering -PC card R1 unit for small office users, around $200 dollars. If you are interested I could get you some price qoutes, the company i work for is a autherized reseller. You could use the Enterasys cards and extender with the Linksys AP, though
eth3l
I think the client would prefer not to purchase more hardware. what kind of McGuyverish stuff do you know? you can PM or email me instead of continuing this on the thread . . .
