NASTY SPOILER!!!!! LIST OF ENEMIES!!!!

ZOMBIES:

1. Generic Zombie: There are over 12 types of these guys. Some carry weapons.

2. Fat Zombie: Listed separate because he has more hitpoints. Some carry weapons.

3. Flaming Zombie: Bernie! He also is a lot stronger and faster than the others.

4. Chainsaw Zombie: Much faster than generic types, and with more hitpoints.

5. Z-Sec: Security Guards that come in four types. Pistol, Machine Gun, Shotgun, and Shield.

6. Commando's: You know what these are. Comes in two types, tentacle, and chaingun.

DEMONS:

7. Cherub: A baby fly like creature.

8. Imp: Very fast little beasts that craw on walls.

9. Arch Vile: Said to be one of the toughest monsters in the game. Summon's Minions (whatever those are)

10. Cacodemon: Floats and belches fireballs.

11. Hellknight: One of the toughest monsters around. You know what he looks like.

12. Lost Soul: Flying head thing that screams.

13. Maggot: Two headed creature that can leap at you. I think that is is also the creature that pokes one of its heads in the G4 video.

14. Mancubus: More hitpoints than a hellknight. Shots with blasters.

15. Pinky: What is that?

16. Revenant: Skeletal demon that attacks with rockets.

17. Tick: Small spider like monster. Like trites but explodes on impact.

18. Trite: A spider thing like the tick but much different.

19. Wraith: Mantis creature. Very ugly indead.

BOSSES:

20. Sabaoth: A zombie tank thing.

21. Vagary: Mother spider thing that is the queen of trites.

22. Gaurdian: One of the coolest looking demon in the game. It has horns, long tail and goat like hooves.

23. Cyberdemon: I wont spoil this surprise. But damn he has the most hitpoints off all monsters.

So there is No Birdman, Baron of Hell, Arachnotron, Pain Elemental, Spider Mastermind and Spectre : ( But i guess they have to save some for the expansion if there is one.

it seems that the tick and the trite are the arachnotrons and spider mastermind, but with new names

also, pinky its most probably the pink demon

Are you wondering why you are disagreeing with 99% of other people in this thread, or this web site ?

Maybe that's because you're wrong.

well, what's so special on it? you all look like hungry kids seeing a chocolate behind the rails, drooling over a game which runs like crap even on new expensive hardware, but it looks very plastic and it's only another FPS. there were far better first person shooters than this. i can't wait to play it too, but it's only a hype, maybe it is too horror-ish and makes your underwear unusable, but hey, is it really so good?

man, you should be crucified for such blasphemy :p

just wait, get the game, play it and then TALK!

have you seen the hardcop review? I guess not

I call BS on you, sir.

i tink might be true, with a multiplayer server up and people playign, ID was prolly wondering why their verificationa nd master server were showign activity, then they jsut did some info hunting. called them and told them

Actually Slyph, the game will run fine for you. But at only around 800x600 and High Quality or 1024x768 and Low Quality (I think). Please check this link (the HardOCP Doom III Hardware Guide) for more details on how I know this information.

Doom III Hardware Guide (HardOCP.com)

Well according to that I will probably be playing it at medium quality and at 800x600 . Kinda sucks. I need to invest in a new video card. :(

I went to a best buy in my town and picked up a copy today

here are my specs:

amd athlon xp 1800+ @ 1.79Ghz

1gb pc3200

maxtor 30gb ata 133 hdd

gf fx 5200 Ultra 128mb

and I must say the game looks really really damn good..seriously

800x600 @ medium quality..

too bad the matrox parhelia 512mb isn't out in stronger force ... I'd get one just so I could play doom3 in Ultra quality lol but then again I'd have to upgrade 100% everything hehe

and if you're gonna judge the game from the hardocp screenshots you're not giving yourself the chance cuz the screenies at hardocp are compressed jpegs

also if anyone has 10$US to blow you can get Doom Collector's Edition which has a 2nd cd of bonus doom3 content with some interviews from John Carmack and a few others that worked on the game ..just a lil fyi:D

Does ne1 have screenshots or a link to BEFORE and AFTER pictures of the DOOM characters/enemies?

I would like to see how bad they look compared to the crummy 2D versions.

If that didnt make sense lol, then this will --> I want to see pictures of characters from DOOM I and DOOM II then compare to the upgraded DOOM 3 characters

    • I'm not sure about that, but it at least "does" a version of 7.1 that this brand new card doesn't....

    • I can barely recall getting web results from a file search... I must've turned it off long ago. 26H2 is Insider's Preview build 26300.8697, which I am running, atm. It is not available for people running the standard commercial builds of Windows--only for the beta test Insider's group. But anyway, as mentioned in the thread, this feature has been around for a long time...
    • Speak for yourself. I saw it on Feedly, came here to read it, and did read it until the steps to activate. I skipped them to read the last paragraph. I knew it was probably not "the most requested feature", but knowing Neowin, I knew the article was going to talk about a feature nonetheless. I've seen Neowin in its best and worst.
