Doom III is out there! W00T!

Recommended Posts

Jesus, my friend went and bought it at my local Best Buy earlier today when I told him it was there. He actually picked me up and brought me to his place so I could see the game.

Absolutely fricken incredible. I can just imagine me playing it in the dark on my headset whilst the thunderstorms are knocking away with the lightning blasting!

-------

Yay, my friend is gonna let me go play at his house for awhile!!!

P4 3.2 Ghz (overclocked but I have no clue to what clocks)

6800 Ultra

2 GB Ram

His PC is even more l337 than mine.

And yes, it looks INSANE on Ultra detail. And, the thunderstorms are getting worse woohoo!

I'll be back in a few hours I'd imagine, chow peeps!

Jesus went to Best Buy and picked up a copy of Doom 3; He didn't just speak it into existence? And He found out about it from you; He didn't already know it was there? And he took you up to heaven to check it out? And He's using a P4 instead of an Athlon FX? And only two gigs of RAM?

That's alternatingly crazy and weak; Jesus needs a better rig.

 phew, good news indeed. I got the impression i'd only be getting around 40 - 50 fps as I have same specs as Dray_04. Tomorrow morning :woot: :woot:

I'm trying to download this from BT. I've got the game preordered too, so I'm not a pirate! :p

But even with 400 seeds and 20000 peers, I'm still only getting about 15K. What's going on?

All ports have been forwarded and ABC Bittorrent shows that everything is working fine, but the speed just won't go up despite the fact that there's 5 million people uploading.

,Aug 1 2004, 17:23] I'm amazed at how good this game looks on my system, even at medium. P4C 2.6, 1 gig ram, Radeon 9800 (non-pro). I expected a slideshow, but it's very very smooth.

cool. that's about my specs. i have a 3ghz though.

Its just they way it is... probaley some people limiting the upload speed i think and you share that across 1000's of people its not going to be very fast at all.

Also just cause you pre-ordered the game still makes you a "pirate". You are downloading a game which you do not own illegally.

So, can anyone confirm the rumor that the final boss is indeed the dreaded Cyberdemon of old? Just say yes or no, and post a screenshot. Nothing too extensive.

As for me, im just waiting for EB to let me know when they get it in, since I pre-ordered a while ago. You guys need to stop getting so worked up about how well it will run or whatnot, it's really quite pathetic. And to those who did get it, just shut up and stop bragging. It's ****ing rediculous.

    • Password Safe 3.72.0 by Razvan Serea Password Safe is a password database utility. Like many other such products, commercial and otherwise, it stores your passwords in an encrypted file, allowing you to remember only one password (the "safe combination"), instead of all the username/password combinations that you use. Once stored, your user names and passwords are just a few clicks away. Using Password Safe you can organize your passwords using your own customizable references—for example, by user ID, category, web site, or location. You can choose to store all your passwords in a single encrypted master password list (an encrypted password database), or use multiple databases to further organize your passwords (work and home, for example). And with its intuitive interface you will be up and running in minutes. PasswordSafe was originally designed by the renowned security technologist Bruce Schneier and released as a free utility application. Password Safe 3.72.0 changelog: Fixed bugs Improved font scale handling - should resolve font size issues on high resolution displays. GH1749 In the Master Password Setup window, "Show Master Password" is no longer truncated on some displays. GH1092, SF1595 Size and position of main window is now correctly restored on scaled displays. SF1630 Keep password expiry date when both password and password expiry are changed; don't clear a non-recurring expiry when the password's changed. SF1628 Custom values can now be copied to the clipboard in read-only mode via Ctrl-C and right-click->Copy Value. New features GH1196 Dark display mode support: Password Safe now supports the system display mode, as well as setting the mode directly via Manage->Options->Display->Display Mode. This change also updates the general "look & feel" of the app to the current Windows theme. Known limitations: The Date picker and keyboard shortcut controls do not switch to dark theme The Customize Toolbar dialog does not switch to dark theme Custom Field support has been added to the more advanced features: Filters XML and Text import and export Comparison, Sync and Merge databases SF938 Custom field values may now be selected by name and copied via a "Copy Custom Field Value..." submenu in the entry context popup menu. SF936 Notes and Custom fields layout now overlap, selectable by tabs, resulting in a more compact and less cluttered layout. SF935 Autotype: Specifying '\v{name}' in the autotype text will cause the corresponding value to be autotyped. • I've got a SoundBlasterX G6 that I use in my streaming setup. Sounds great to me and I've had zero issues with the ancient software package so far in Win11. That G6 has 7.1, Dolby, fully working SPDIF and since it's a USB device it's outside of my rig so I don't have to worry about EMF distortion. Looks like for now this is a pass for me as I think I have better hardware....
