i can actually feel my athlon 1.8ghz, GF4600, 790mb RAM straining to get ahold of doom3...

does anyone else think (like me) that i'll be able to attempt it on high detail?, 1024res?

if it's 1.8ghz,not 1800+, you can play on high detail 1024 - very playable.

well just deleted my RAID array and its now formatting, hopefully removing that Audigy2 card will keep it from crashing. if not looks like i upgrade my vid card

this is verry sad, almost everybody that downloaded it is not ahving problems, but i bought it, and having problems,

i'd recommend you to overclock your CPU, overclock your card only a bit (too much overclock can cause crashing), and you can play at 1024x768 high at around 35FPS, or 50-60 on medium. Medium looks very good too.

yeah, thats something i've been meaing to do for a while.

meh, when Half Life 2 is released, i'm probably gonna upgrade the processor anyway.

but if I can run Doom3 well as it stands, then that'll do for me.

btw,the game is getting not to be scary, it's the same.

find the door.locked.shoot the stuff around you.find the key.get back to the door.shoot the monsters.open the door...

first 3 hours were great, now i'm kinda bored of it.

perhaps you're not supposed to play it, like for 9 straight hours non-stop then.

i'm playing Halo a bit at a time at the moment, and it works so well for me, probably do the same with Doom3.

get into the console with ctrl+alt+~ and then type com_showfps 1

Okies, well I got a P4 2.6 with HT OC'd to 3Ghz with 1GB 400mhz ram, will it run okay u think on 1024x768 on medium? I always use omega drivers (Y) ;) Btw, thanks for the reply.

Yeah you can definately run it at 1024x768 on medium with no problems .. my friend on his AMD 3200+, Ati Radeon 9500 oc'd to a 9700, ran it on ultra graphics and 1024x768 and was getting about 30ish frames a second... the only problem he was having was when entering room the game would cache and he would have to wait a few seconds .. but that's probably due to his lack of ram lol
