Possible XP SP2 Release 2004-08-04

According to a posting this morning 2004-08-03 on the [email protected] listserv, Windows XP SP2 may be released tomorrow:

"It's supposed to be first thing tomorrow - we interviewed Rebecca Norlander

(Group Manager of Microsoft's Security Business and Technology Unit) a week

ago about SP2. But I understand that although it's ready to roll, they are

holding off confirming the release until the very last moment, leaving the

option to withdraw it if a last minute gremlin is found. Worst case is

probably any day now, unless something dire happens, most likely is that

it's on track for tomorrow.

im a beta tester for SP2 and i put in a bug thingy yesterday and they fixed it. So i doubt its ALL PERFECT now to ship. Knowing Microsoft, they will delay it
