Ayepecks
I know there was a Winamp tool used to remove vocals from MP3 files while playing, but is there any utility I can get to remove them from MP3's permanently (or just a certain section that I don't want vocals in)? Thanks :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/198939-removing-vocals-from-mp3s/ Share on other sites

Erich
Ok, a simple way to remove vocals (and btw it doesn't work for all songs, but for alot) is to invert one of the stereo channels, then mix the channels to make it mono. You'll also lose sound + quality, more or less (once again varies from song to song). But it ussually gets rid of the raw vocals. There is also software that does the exact same thing, except automated. But if you want to do it right, get some expensive karaoke hardware. That's the only real way to do it. EDIT: the reasoning behind this method is that the vocals are evenly mixed between both channels, whereas the instrumentation is ussually mixed left and right. paganinio
I know there was a Winamp tool used to remove vocals from MP3 files while playing, but is there any utility I can get to remove them from MP3's permanently (or just a certain section that I don't want vocals in)? Thanks :) Let's assume that you have the Winamp tool to remove vocals WHILE PLAYING, You Have 3 Ways To Remove Them From MP3 Permanently 1, Use Winamp to generate a new .wav file WHILE PLAYING(To do so, you need to set the decoder of Winamp from the PLUG-IN menu), and convert the .wav file into .mp3 file. 2, Use 3rd Party Software to record all sounds from the sound card, and convert it into .mp3 file. 3, Use Hardware to record all sounds from sound card, such as MP3 player(with Encoding function), Tape Recorder.
