HELP HOSED XP!

i reformatted my MBR and now it says missing operating system!

i dont have a startup disk either...what do i do!? PLEASE HELP!!

You got to get to a command prompt somehow and let me look up the command real fast I forgot.

lijke recovery console? cuz i have a WIN95B boot disk...but tahts it.

get to another XP computer and make a boot floppy or get a windows CD and boot from it, use the FIXMBR command at the repair console. Not much else you can do.

A:\> FDISK.EXE /MBR

i ran that and i did fixmbr from recovery console..that still didnt work..it just says error loading operating system...

if you dont have a bootable xp cd how did you install xp in the first place?

no i dont have a boot disk as in startup disc.

Use your Windows CD and boot off that. At the first screen, press R. You'll have to log onto your Windows installation on the hard drive (administrator password required) and then you'll be at a command prompt. This is where you type fixmbr and then reboot (Y)
