Drive Letters

Recommended Posts

I have my HD and a DVD attached to the primary and secondary master (respectively) ports on an on-board UATA100 controller, and a CDRW as primary master on the main IDE port. I used to have a second partition (D:) on my drive which is now just un-allocated space being saved for Mandrake 8.1.

The Problem is WinXP never changed drive E: and F: to D: and E: once the D: partition was gone. Under Device manager, there doesn't seem to be any way to change the drive letters for any of my devices. Not really a problem, it's just kinda weird and it bugs me:)

go to computer management in the administrative tools folder, click on disk management, right click on the drive that you want to change and select change drive letter and paths. that should fix it for you.
