OLYMPICS - Gold, Silver, or Bronze?

Ok so the Olympics are here... who do you think the main front-runners for the medals are this year? Of course, the bigger countries will get a lot more, but sometimes there are some surprises. Any thoughts? Anyone here know of any "countries to watch for" in a specific sport?

Look out for the Jamaican bobsled team.

Oh, wait this is 2004 and SUMMER...duh :)

I've never tried to predict Olympic outcomes; there's too many athletes and too many venues that I never even knew existed. Personally, I like the Winter Games alot better and find it more enjoyable. Don't know why.

I guess if I have to pick for this Summer, though...USA?

australia will beat u.s in bball and ian thorpe will beat michael phelps

Australia had trouble against NZ. I wouldn't put them anywhere near US or Serbia for now

Ian Thorpe and Grant Hackett will beat everyone in their pet events. Michael Diamond will win gold in the shooting (shot 25 out of 25 it traps heat). Australian Field Hockey team has a fair chance of winning gold and should definately get a place.
