SP2 Final Build

The final build of Service Pack 2 for Windows XP is 2180. When installed, the winver command should show the following:

Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158 : Service Pack 2)

The text xpsp_sp2_rtm means that the RTM (Release to Manufacturing) release of XP SP2 was installed.

The text 040803 means that the build was compiled on August 3, 2004.

The text 2158 means that the compile was finished at 21:58 Pacific time, or 9:58 pm.

Any threads relating to the version string of SP2 will be closed referring to this post.
