Qnext - New Multi-protocol messenger

Recommended Posts

I found this messenger about a month ago and back then it was far from complete and not really very usable to me. Now, I think it has advanced and is a very nice alternative to many instant messenger clients, if not for its own network's features.

You can go here to check out some of the features. My favorite part of the client is its file sharing capabilities, so take a look at that.

If anyone would like to try it out, PM me with your User ID # for my User ID # and I will add you. Enjoy!

Edit: Yeah, thanks contra. There is a Linux port and a Mac port seems to be coming soon.

Well before you go installing or wanting a screenshot, I'll warn you. It uses Java. It sucks memory. Unless it's minimized it uses between 40 and 60 megs of memory on my machine (not that bothers me but it might bother you and others) minimized it's using between 10-15 megs.

I'll post a screenshot in a few minutes.

looks crappy... i hate when the main look of it isn't on the front page. i do not like looking for it.... besides, they wont last long. a new messenger comes out every week now... justs tick with the basics.

I just tried out the Photo Sharing feature and it is excellent. It allows people to view thumbnails of all the pictures you have shared and then they can view the full size pictures as well and zoom, pan, and scan in the provided window, and then download if they would like. Very well done feature.
