soz, been away.

You would do it like this

How would I incorporate that into a slide menu with a target script like this?

slideMenu.makeMenu('sub','xFire','run:C:\Program Files\Internet\Xfire\Xfire.exe','_self')

As long as you have 'run:' and always have the target as '_self' it will work.

I know it works brill, as i use it with my own active desktop, that launches loads of programs no problem :D

PS you need to only use a normal link with it so only need the single \ and not double like in your script etc

sorry for asking what is probably a dumb question, but how the heck do i go about using a html file as desktop anyway ? ive done it before, years ago, but i cant get it to work this time, see screenshot. active desktop is NOT disabled in tweakui. i just cant get it to work no matter what html file i choose. do the files need to be stored in a particular folder?

That didn't work man...I mean it works for most apps, but xFire has the same problems and I can bet the rest of 'em do also...Also I had to use / foward slashes, because blackslases didn't work...

Any suggestions?

Jake-

did you install that run prot. handler i posted page or two back??

becuase it works perfect here and all my links are run:c:\<program dir>\<exe> etc with target as _self ???

I decided to give this a whirl, first part went well, however, that dagblasted Recycle Bin was on my desktop and had no reg entries that allowed me to hide it. Well I went and got tweakui-xp and removed the icon, but when iI did the rest of the desktop disappears as well. Any way I can remedy this? :ninja:

There must be atleast one Icon on your Desktop.

U can use for example my "Shutdown Button without Text" or another "Button" and give it a transparent Icon and you see nothing! :D

Hi, I'm new to these boards and I stumbled onto this thread. I decided to give active desktop a try. However, whenever I use the search bar or click on any links, it opens up in IE. My default browser is Firefox and would prefer to keep it that way. Any suggestions on how to open the links using Firefox instead of IE? Thanks
