CPU: P4 3.4C (OC to 3.75)

MB: ASUSP4G800-E deluxe

Cooling: CPU: swiftechMCW6002 block w/RAD676

everything else: air for now

Case Fans: 5 :2 120MM top for Rad

1 80MM side

2 80MM back

PSU Fans: 3 front/back/bottom

Case temp: 31C not sure how room temp is.

CPU temp: 32Cidle-36Cload

Excessive fans, I know (paranoid, 2nd PC running at 50Cidle w/stock). slowly removing redundant fans and adding more OC/liquid blocks over next 2 months. Post complete system temps when done.

CPU: Athlon XP 2100+ @ 2700+ (2.17GHz)

MB: Biostar M7NCG 400 mATX

Cooling: 1 80mm back @ ~ 5500RPM, 1 TR2TT TR2-M2 with adjustable fan @ ~ 5600rpm

Case Temp: about 40?C idle, 50?C load

CPU Temp: about 47?-50?C idle, 60?C load

This setup is working much better than I had anticipated, especially since it's a mATX setup with a Maxtor 200GB hard drive in it as well, and no front fan.

Just waiting until the day this whole thing melts into a puddle of crap...

I'm rather concerned over the temp of mine. Just built it today and i'm using the default heatsink and fan as supplied by AMD.

Athlon 64 3000

Idle temp: 75C

Load temp: upto 90C

Is that normal for the 'normal' heatsink and fan?

nope. in fact, i'm kind of surprised the cpu didn't melt yet.

make sure the heatsink is on properly.

Ok guys - I just took it apart again, removed the HSF and added some Arctic Silver to the CPU. Replaced the HSF and secured it tightly - so it's definately on right.

The fan rotates at around 3000RPM, and yet the idle temp still hovers around 70-75C

Anything else I can try, i really need help here, i'm compeltely stumped!

Tyan S2466 - 4N

2 x MP2000+

9600 XT AGP

1GB Registered ECC RAM

2 x 120GB ATA

400W PSU

4 x 8cm fans

CPUo: Thermaltake Extreme Volcano 12

CPU1: Thermaltake Volcano 11 Xaser

Fans @ full speed:

CPUo: Idle @ 42C

CPU1: Idle @ 46C

Case @ 40C

Will update after I stress out the system @ 100% load.

I'm not sure how far off-topic this is, but here goes:

My BIOS reports CPU temp as ~48C-50C. I installed Motherboard Monitor 5, selected my mother board and it reported my CPU temp as 64C and my case temp as 127C! I'm sure the case temp is wrong (I doubt there's even a sensor - the machine is a self-build & unless the sensor is attached to the the mobo it doesn't exist ), but which CPU temp do I believe? The PC has 4 fans - 1 exhaust built into the PSU, one processor fan (AMD stock - supplied with the processor, which is an AMD XP Barton 2500+) & 2 case fans one intake at the front & an exhaust at the back (yes these fans are mounted the right way round). I would have thought this is sufficient cooling (or at least to reduce the CPU temp to below 64C).

Any suggestions?

It's not gonna be anywhere near close to that and still live/stay booted.

Your mobo temp reports must be wrong.

Processor: Athlon XP-M 2600+ @ 2.5ghz (200 x 12.5 @ 1.65v)

Motherboard: Epox EP-8KRAI

Heatsink (rpm): Speeze 5F286B (2250-2700rpm)

Case: Antec Sonata

# of Case Fans: 1 - Antec 120mm case fan

Thermal Compound - Arctic Silver 5 (and it hasnt had its 200 hrs to setup yet :p)

Avg Room Temp: 72-78F

CPU Temp (Idle - Stress): 35-52C (still burning in processor and CPU paste

I anticipate the temps wont have such a huge range once the Arctic Silver totally sets up and behaves itself. Otherwise its a great OC, maybe someday I'll play with the voltage/multiplier to find a sweet spot for 2.6ghz. Machine gets unstable within five minutes of operating at speeds over 2.5ghz, but 2.5 rocks on all night and never misses a beat. Go figure...

Processor (Standard or Mobile): Athlon XP2700+ (Standard) @2.36GHz 175fsb

Motherboard: PC Chips Highly Integrated (I like the red motherboard)

Heatsink: X-Blower (I am planning to overclock soon.)

Case: Some Case off Ebay. (LCD Screen and Heat Sensors for the graphics card

hard drive and cpu) It came with a bad power supply though!

# of Fans: 2 3 inch fans with three color LED lights (green, blue, red)

Average temp: In my room about 80 F but the computer stays an even 65 F :alien:

Proc: AMD 64 3000+ OC'd to 3200 currently

Mobo: Gigabyte K8NSNXP

Heatsink: Coolermaster HYPER 6

Case: Lian Li PC V1200
