Intelligen
I just downloaded the new winamp and i noticed that playing mp3'z it is fine, but the minute you stop and let winamp idle in the background my cpu usage shoots up to 100%. Checking the programs used and their cpu usage shows me that winamp is the cause. The minute i start playing a mp3 it works fine again. Anyone else having these same problems? And if so is it a problem with winamp or winamp and XP?
mcb
dunno, but i have 2.77 and XP, and it reports 0% processor being used. ( a nice placebo maybe) but sitting in the tray playing, it only takes 1 or 2 megs o' ram.

nXP_151 Veteran Posted October 4, 2001 Veteran Share Posted October 4, 2001 I guess the problem might be the RAM being used too much, that it has a little space to do anything more, than it depends to the CPU to do it.

Steven P. Administrators Posted October 4, 2001 Administrators Share Posted October 4, 2001 You might want to try disabling the Winamp Agent (options > Preferences) that may help
configure Veteran Posted October 4, 2001 Veteran Share Posted October 4, 2001 2.77 works fine without Direct Sound Plugin here.. If I install that plugin, the songs just keep skippin..
