Nope. That's pretty much it. It works well, I've done it to both Dell and HP cd's.

thanks guess i should have PM'ed as you know More about Dell than any one :D also is the oemlogo and supprt stored on the cd theone that is normally displayed in system properties? if so where and can i grt it to install during setup?

BTW, when I reinstalled XP after I got my new 8300 (to take all the bloat crap out they put in) I noticed that I didn't have to activate it afterwards. Someone mentioned on Dell's forum that it was because of a file on the OEM disk that pre-activates it. Will deleting those files interfere with that process?

I tried slipstreaming Dell OEM SP1a CD to SP2. Now, when I boot I get:

"File usbehci.sys is corrupt"

Any ideas anyone?

That sounds like a dirty/scratched CD or a bad download. Verify everything works individually and try again. I do not understand why people want to make slipstream CDs before they are sure their files are good. Install it first, then slipstream it, install it again if that's what you want.

Coud you please prove me the link to this thread?

hey is there a way to insert my own logo in the system properties? i saw that link for added the dell logo and wondered how i can do it for my self built pc.

yes you can put your own logo in the properties.. by following this info

Putting your Logo in System Properties

In order to do so, first you should create a Bmp file with, at most 170x110 pixels, containing your logo. After creating this file, save it in the directory c:\windows\system with the name Oemlogo.bmp.

Next, select the code below, and or edit it! :

[Version]

Microsoft Windows 2004

WinVer=2600.111111

[General]

Manufacturer=big pimp

Model=AMD BAD BOY

SupportURL=http://www.ms.com

[support Information]

Line1="Is your number still"

Line2="911"

Line3="Alrighty then"

(however many lines you want)

Save this file in c:\windows\system with the name Oeminfo.ini

ENJOY... as far as putting this on your boot disk.. im not sure...100percent

but i would think if you put it in the i386\system folder it would copy it

and everythingwould be fine

thanks...i knew this but never knew how to do it from cd 2 pc

i tried slipstraming my winxpsp1a to sp2,and it didn't work, when i installed it the service 2 didn't even install

what did u guys use or do to make it.i used that slipstream program by the guys that did autopatcher

Odd....I normally do my slipstream manually and to date they have all worked....I've not done the Dell CD yet but I'll get round to doing it soon.

Ok here is the thing, slipstreaming sp2 into dell cds can give you a problem because they include hotfixes that auto install (its not the other stuff that makes sp2 not slipstream),

Steps to OEM Dell

1)go into I386

2)Delete SVCPACK Directory

3)Delete SVCPACK DL File

4)Delete SVCPACK.Inf file

5) Continue slipstream as normal

6)Copy my two files I posted to your i386 folder ( SVCPACK.DL_ and SVCPACK.IN_ in the zip, this will make sure you dont get that missing file error)

I've found that the hotfixes that are in the SVCPACK are also in the i386 folder itself should I delete them?

thanks

There are 4 sets of files that 'pre-activate' the system.

Files:

oembios.bin

oembios.sig

oembios.dat

oembios.cat

on startup check the BIOS for certain tests. If the test passes it loads with no activation. If the test fails it asks you to activate. These files are customized by Microsoft per the request of the royalty OEMs.

Go here to get the logo and instructions

useless info! I provided the files for some of them dell files :ninja:

I've finished slipstreaming manually which worked fine now i have a WIN51IC.SP1 and win51ic.SP2 can i delete the WIN51IC.SP1 and only keep the win51ic.SP2 only or do i require both as the cd had been slipstreamed with SP1a?

    • Ocenaudio 3.19.3 by Razvan Serea Ocenaudio is a full featured, fast and easy to use audio and music editor. It is the ideal software for people who need to edit and analyze audio files without complications. Ocenaudio also has powerful features that will please more advanced users. To assist ocenaudio development, a powerful toolset of audio editing, analysis and manipulation called Ocen Framework was created. ocenaudio is also based on Qt framework, a well known library for cross-platform development. Cross-platform support ocenaudio is available for all major operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Native applications are generated for each platform from a common source, in order to achieve excelent performance and seamless integration with the operating system. All versions of ocenaudio have a uniform set of features and the same graphical interface, so the skills you learn in one platform can be used in the others. VST plugins support Ocenaudio supports VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins, giving its users access to numerous effects. Like the native effects, VST effects can use real-time preview to aide configuration. Real-time preview of effects Applying effects such as EQ, gain and filtering is an important part of audio editing. However, it is very tricky to get the desired result by adjusting the controls configuration alone: you must listen the processed audio. To ease the configuration of audio effects, ocenaudio has a real time preview feature: you hear the processed signal while adjusting the controls. The effect configuration window also includes a miniature view of the selected audio signal. You can navigate on this miniature view in the same way as you do on the main interface, selecting parts that interest you and listening to the effect result in real time. Multiselection for delicate editions To speed up complex audio files editing, ocenaudio includes multi-selection. With this amazing tool, you can simultaneously select different portions of an audio file and listen, edit or even apply an effect to them. For example, if you want to normalize only the excerpts of an interview where the interviewee is talking, just select them and apply the effect. Eficient edition of large files With ocenaudio, there is no limit to the length or the quantity of the audio files you can edit. Using an advanced memory management system, the application keeps your files open without wasting any of your computer's memory. Even in files several hours long, common editing operations such as copy, cut or paste happen almost instantly. Fully featured spectrogram Besides offering an incredible waveform view of your audio files, ocenaudio has a powerful and complete spectrogram view. In this view, you can analyze the spectral content of your audio signal with maximum clarity. Advanced users will be surprised to find that the spectrogram settings are applied in real time. The display is updated immediately when altering features such as the number of frequency bands, window type and size and dynamic range of the display.
