Martin Blank
I've got a bit of a dilemma here that's outside the scope of what most people here have to deal with, but I'm running short of options. At my work, we have a number of interconnected sites, many of which have critical network infrastructure plugged into UPS. This is a good thing, of course, except that we need to be able to manage them all. They're all networked, but of three brands: APC, PowerWare, and Best Power (which is now part of PowerWare). The challenge is to be able to use a single console to at least display and store the vital stats for them all (incoming and outgoing voltage, battery status, etc). APC and PowerWare both have software, but they work only with their own units, and APC's only goes to 25 anyway. TrippLite has software that supports most vendors, but it doesn't seem to have direct network support. HP OpenView and IBM Director have modules, but those are severe overkill for something like this. Anyone have suggestions? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
