I think it's paint.

Hmm, i dont.

My guess is, that it was a hammer. I know because i have alot of work done in the construction sector and this is rather common, and because i believe Chris is a Merchandiser by profession it would involve using said hammers from time to time.

I could be wrong.

Why the single painted nail?
For the sake of avoiding a huge long drawn out decision, we'll go with "i was bored one day, my friend wanted to do my whole hand but I didn't want it so we comprimised to do one finger and I chose to highlight the middle finger since its um the middle finger and it looks best in the middle of the hand"
