Longhorn Transformation Pack 7

Recommended Posts

Another brand new release of the one and only Longhorn Transformation Pack.

This small piece of software will transform your Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 into the best looking Longhorn port that is available right now, without any extra software!

WindowsX: If I may say so, I guess this is the second revolution. An almost brand new transforming system that never existed before, this version supports all XP and 2003 clients.

This means you can use this software perfectly on every Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 client, doesnt matter if its beta or alpha build. Furthermore, you can rollback your system files to obtain new updates from Windows Update and reinstall it so you don't need to use Batchmod or wait for the author to make new updates. Yet another great update is visual style.

I added lots of awesome visual styles for brand new concepts and also make existing ones more perfect (Especially Longhorn Aero and Slate).

What are you waiting for?

What can i say ? I like cartoons.

Hm.. a performance freek, i dont install themes. My WinXP is like Win98 and it's fast @ 3.2 Ghz !

I'm with you. I like themes, they make Windows XP beautiful, but they slow down the PC so I use Classic and everything else turned off, including the themes service. My 2.6 GHz P4 flies fast and I like it that way. I am a speed freak myself. I even got rid of the fancy search at the start menu. I hated that dog. I put in the Windows 2000 classic search through the registry. Here's how I did it in case you want it.

Go to the registry and:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CabinetState

Add a new string (REG_SZ) called "Use Search Asst" - set the value to "no" and you will have the classic win2000 search.

lol screw this, im not even going to bother downloading it for some reason, it was acting like i didn't have xp for some reason, it kept saying something about windows nt/2000 if i remember right but i dont know what that would come up( i currently have xp home edition installed). so unless this bug was fixed dont get this guys

well I tried and i'm not that impressed...I dont know if i did follow very well the steps but I booted in Safe mode, as it was suggested, closed all programs and run the .exe file

Well what was modified only was the login screen, which I dont use anyway cause I'm alone on this comp, as well as the taskbar, the Start Menu and the toolbars of the Control Panel, of My Computer and of Internet Explorer....Nothing really knew to me as I use WindowsBlinds and get the same...

i thought it would also modified the Folders' look and i dont see where is the dashboard....If this was supposed to be the CodenameDashboard software then i dont see it and it requires .NET Framework which does not seem to be asked dureing the installation of this pack, If it was SmarbarXp then again I did not see it either...What is supposed to be the dashboard ?

anyway I got rid of it and reinstall the MacOS Tiger theme with WB :)

If anyone did succeed the installation tell us how things turned out

Come on guys I think this guy deserves a bit of respect for what he has done and gives you for free don't you think ? It must have been a hard work...I'm downloading this pack and give it a try

was not bashing him....bashing the site that had so called "screenshots" of the thing....but they only show the install....

It's alright. The only way I'd want the Longhorn UI is if it could truly be replicated. I've tried many visual styles and none even come close to Longhorn in my opinion.

For those that wish to have screenshots of the installation GUI, I've uploaded some - http://www.graphics-tech.com/storage/heath I didn't take any screenshots of Windows UI though as all it was was a poorly created visual style (in my opinion).
