Apple delayed by Nvidia

Recommended Posts

Of course, Apple on the other hand is coming out with all the fancy talk as usual, Dual Link Dual Turbo crap, like it's something so unique.

Looks like its unique (atleast for now):

Dont get upset. Those one liners flamebaits are there to get you upset.

but don't consider myself a fanboy (too old), but I just get upset with moronic statements like that. How old are you? 10? 12?

Contradiction? No?

I think FireGL is the only one with Dual Link. And everyone knows how much those cost..

is it my imagination or...

if you need a dual digitial connection to the card....heaven forbid you buy a vga-digital addapter like ATI likes to put in their bundles with their cards....that Nvidia seems not to carry?

just a thought...

also why would you need two connections for one monitor?

also why would you need two connections for one monitor?

Try reading some of the other previous posts.

Dual Link is the name of the high bandwidth version of DVI they are using, and each monitor requires one Dual Link connection.

...in other words, you dont

do i have a choice?

well, yea, if i want to spare 3" of my screen.

geez, that's one of the stupidest comments i've read all day.

Stop acting like a dumbass.

I'm just pointing out the fact that you don't like people bashing on ATI because you own an ATI card.

I bet that you wouldn't mind it if you had an nVidia card

you're the only one here acting like a dumbass.

but thanks for telling me how i would feel.

perhaps you can tell me how i feel about you right now?

(i'll give you a hint: it starts with a "you are" and ends with "an idiot")

The topic is Nvidia & Apple and already we've turned to Nvidia vs ATi. Come on guys, back on topic.

It's is interesting about the bandwidth of the Dual-DVI ports, so...using both ports to one monitor will increase the speed/quality produced from the graphics card to the monitor? (I have to ask this question because we all got side-tracked and confused).

You said it, not me

yea, and mine is at least honest. i don't care if i have an ati or an nvidia card, and to bring my sig into it is absolutely stupid. but i'm sure you were just trying to pwn some n00bs and look cool for everybody, so i don't care.

    • Absolutely NOBODY has suggested such a conclusion. I am affirming the sober reality check that AV2's overall market adoption will take longer than AV1's adoption rate -- which, by the way, is the whole point of the article! While PCI-SIG is productive (on paper), other WGs have created all sorts of confusing progress plans that consumers have tuned-out of their improvements... HTML/W3C, USB, HDMI, BT, WIFI (ieee802.11) as a few other groups where spec naming conventions, split progress paths, overlapping ambitions... I'm not critiquing the AV specs group; I'm simply affirming that adoption for AV2 faces headwinds beyond the macroeconomics of it all.
