Windowblinds 4.4 up on OD

Stardock has released WindowBlinds 4.4 onto Object Desktop. It's a pretty big step up from WindowBlinds 4.3 as being the most significant performance increase in visual style handling in years.

It also supports shellstyles being at the top of a folder rather than merely on the left side (see screenshot).

SkinStudio 4.4 is now available on Object Desktop as well and enables importing of msstyles that have unusual shell styles.

Object Desktop is a suite of desktop enhancements that includes WindowBlinds, DesktopX, ObjectBar, IconPackager, and most of the other programs you would need to totally customize the look and feel of Windows.

There was a significant re-architecture of how the painting is done. Probably the msot significant change since WindowBlinds 2 really and the huge speed improvement is the result.

I think at this piont, the speed difference between WB 4.4 and msstyles should be noticeable enough that nobody who has used both will be able to truthfully say that msstyles are as fast or faster than WindowBlinds.

Honestly, it seems pretty smiliar to me. Right now I'm running msstyles because of the lack of any interesting WB themes and I didn't see any performance drop when I went from WB back to msstyles.

Glad that WB has improved. It was a great product from Stardock even before the upgrade. Stardock does not sit on their hands; they are continually improving their stuff.

I think I asked this before, but cant find it. how can I hide the icon in the taskbar? I unchecked show Icon in the system tray, but its still there. how can I get rid of it?

fast performance, where

I dwonloaded it via Object Desktop, about 9+ MB, the performance is about the same on my PC with comparison to 4.3, but now when I double click on a folder to open it there is a notable lag, other then that 4.4 is preety good, it stops for a while when opening a folder, there is a lag in opening folder only

The only link to the enhanced version can be found in the email from Stardock....or you can go to stardock.com and have them send you a new email with it.

Just remember...even if you got the enhanced version, it's useless without a serial number
