(suse 9.1) Graphic login

hey i was wondering why when i turn on my linux box it goes straight to kde as my user and doesnt bring up a gui for logins and if it does it gives a werid one that i didnt setup

the gpm service was added to the top of the list for runlevel 5 so any ideas what to do

If you go to System/configuration/Log in screen setup under the K menu,

It will probably have Automatic login checked. Just uncheck that.

You can also configure the login screens there too.

the werid thing is i dont have auto login selected and i do have a login screen configure but when i logout it gives me a total different login screen

The only thing I can suggest is to also look in the control center under system administration/ log in manager.

I looked there and noticed that even though I had auto log in unchecked in the K-menu one it was checked there.

For me it didn't make a difference cause I boot into runlevel 3, but maybe it will help you.

Is it showing gdm? if you optn /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager

within the first 10 lines look for this:

DISPLAYMANAGER="gdm"

if you are using kde, then you probably want this to be kdm instead.
