semaja2.net Posted September 27, 2004 Share Posted September 27, 2004 hey i was wondering why when i turn on my linux box it goes straight to kde as my user and doesnt bring up a gui for logins and if it does it gives a werid one that i didnt setup the gpm service was added to the top of the list for runlevel 5 so any ideas what to do Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
eevoo Posted September 27, 2004 Share Posted September 27, 2004 If you go to System/configuration/Log in screen setup under the K menu, It will probably have Automatic login checked. eevoo Posted September 27, 2004 Share Posted September 27, 2004 The only thing I can suggest is to also look in the control center under system administration/ log in manager. I looked there and noticed that even though I had auto log in unchecked in the K-menu one it was checked there. KenLin Posted September 27, 2004 Share Posted September 27, 2004 Is it showing gdm? if you optn /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager within the first 10 lines look for this: DISPLAYMANAGER="gdm" if you are using kde, then you probably want this to be kdm instead.
