Default .pdf reader

Preview is my default .pdf reader. But since I opened a .pdf file in Acrobat just now, whenever I open any .pdf file from Firefox, it downloads it and opens it with Acrobat. This is weird because when I double click on any .pdf files on my HD, it still opens it with Preview. Any idea how I can make Preview the default .pdf reader for Firefox?

Edit: When I go to Firefox>Preferences>Downloads>File Type, and try to change the applicatin for .pdf files, it wouldn't let me choose Preview for some reason... :blink: And Firefox thinks Acrobat is my default .pdf reader, when in fact it's Preview. How can I change that?

Maybe you can try using RCDefaultApp (it's a preference pane to set url, file types, MIME, etc. to a default application) to set it...

Try this:

Do a 'Get Info' on any pdf file. Under the 'Open with:' section, choose which program you want to open with. Then click the 'Change All...' button.

That's the first thing I did. Maybe I should give RCDefaultApp a try...

Still doesn't work so I got rid of Acrobat Reader.

By the way, is there anyway to view a pdf document inside the browser windows instead of downloading and opening it?

In safari there is a plugin to do this, but I dont think you can in firefox.

I was wondering the same thing.

EDIT: I just found this and work perfectly. just make sure you download the good one for your OS version.
