the only thing I dislike about alienware is the asus boards I would swap to a gigabyte if I had an aw and the predator case would look nice with a side window

but aw makes the most amazing systems I have built many computers I look in alot of computer books magazines ect... and aw is the best

The alx system is amazing runs at 4ghz overclocked has dual PCI Express video cards and water cooling but it has cheap flat eide cables

the couldn't put in $10 color rounded cables but they charge :

Price: $5,411.00

As low as $162 per month!

lol

Up to 4GHz of power and Next Generation PCI Express

Make your friends envy your power. The Area-51 ALX features next-generation Intel processors, enhanced to operate at up to 4GHz! The Area-51 ALX also includes the most significant PC bus architecture change in over a decade. PCI Express is a next-generation system bus providing a high-speed interconnect designed to evolve current PCI technology and address the increasing bandwidth demands of emerging graphics in such next-generation applications as 3D games, professional 3D content creation, high-definition video editing, and more.

Next Generation DDR2 Memory

Alienware Area-51 ALX systems feature DDR2 SDRAM. This new memory technology is designed to shatter the limits imposed by that of the current DDR memory architecture, enabling systems to process critical information at blistering speeds and achieve the highest possible performance in compute-intensive applications.

Performance Enhanced Hardware

Alienware ALX systems feature performance-enhanced hardware to provide more speed, power, and responsiveness than ever before. High-performance hardware is carefully engineered and configured to define and deliver a brand new class of high-performance systems. Pushed beyond all previous performance thresholds, ALX systems satisfy even the most extreme need for speed.

Alienware? ALX systems are available with performance-enhanced system processors. Tuned at the system level to operate at formerly unsanctioned speeds, these processors elevate computing performance to previously unattainable levels.

ALX systems can be further enhanced with specifically configured memories. When paired with a performance-enhanced processor, these memories provide the extreme bandwidth required to ensure maximum system-level performance.

Alienware? ALX systems take performance to the edge with performance-enhanced graphics. Designed to exceed even the most demanding expectations, these exclusively-enhanced graphics solutions enable the highest quality rendering with industry-leading performance.

Go beyond all limits with an Alienware ALX. With up to 4GB of high-speed DDR2 memory and up to 2.4 TB of hard drive space, the definition of "top-end" has just been officially changed.

Silent Liquid Cooling Technology

Alienware's Silent Liquid Cooling technology was specifically designed for ALX systems. An evolution beyond standard air-cooled designs, it uses a specially formulated liquid and gold-plated, pure copper coolers to keep the heat generated by internal hardware components in check. Excess heat is absorbed by the liquid, which is moved away through two pumps and cooled by a high performance heat exchanger.

Alienware's Silent Liquid Cooling technology comes with a number of features for added safety and reliability:

Uses built-in, three-speed fan control for the quietest operation possible

Reduces dust accumulation on internal components, resulting in a longer lifespan and cleaner overall system

Proprietary power control board constantly monitors liquid temperature, with emergency alarm and automatic shut down features

CPU retention clip places even pressure across the CPU for extra protection

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
