Locke is the king

John Locke is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, my favorite character on the show (Y) I can only hope I am as courageous and brave at his age as he is. Man oh man was this ep great.

A question for Lost devotees (and I ask without intentionally trying to spoil): Do you guys think that the creator/writer of Lost had this specific story-line from the get-go (the beginning)? Reason I ask is Jack was originally supposed to die in the pilot episode :o

Oh GREAT WAY TO START THE SEASON

My take, on the hatch It is some kind of test facility that does tests on people but they have to be kids, thats why they took the french ladies baby, the black kid (forgot his name)....also those people Hurley ran into who were spooked by the numbers were people who had been tested on...ok a bit out there but it was the first thing that came to my mind soon as I saw the inside where that dude was... and that doctor Jack met before is of course a doctor there :p

They had a general idea for what the island is, but not really the characters. They basically knew the setting and then created some characters to throw in there. Jack easily could have died, which is the same with everyone else. It doesn't change what the island is, so anyone is expendible.

I'm just creeped out by a few things:

-All that computer equipment is old as crap. So, why does Desmond have a brand spanking new washer and drier?

-What does that computer do anyways?

-WTF was he injecting into himself? I'll have to check the HR-HDTV rip for that.

-What in the hell was that Walt scene all about?

Well, the hatch was opened, but there are now way too many questions to answer. It's a good thing they didn't end inside the hatch last season, that would have led to a revolt for sure... :D

^Yeah. JJ Abrams said that he knew what was on the island when he was writing it. And it is not dinsaurs :D

Amazing episode. After I saw Desmond, I thought to myself, that can't be "the guy". Turns out, he was. Wow.

So many more questions need to be answered now. Come on next weeek! :)

edit: the numbers on the vile were CR 4-81516-23 42

WTF!

Yeah, I slowed down the Tivo and I saw the numbers on the vial as well.

But guess what, it's even better than that... when Desmond first types into the keyboard, slow it down and watch what he types. He uses the top row and you can CLEARLY see he is typing the numbers! If you don't believe me, check it out in slow motion. Hell, you can plainly see it in regular speed too!

A few other things I noticed:

1) Desmond some how has access to a food supply, running water, electricity, etc.

2) It looks like he works for some company or the place was built by some company. The logo on the panel where he pulls the injection from is the same logo on the suit that he slips on when he feels the explosion.

3) At the end, when Jack realizes he knows Desmond, Desmond has NO look of surprise whatsoever on his face... as if he was expecting Jack!

4) What in the world was that wall in the tunnel that was all blocked up and full of concrete buckets?! Something in there had an enourmously powerful magnetic field because it attracted Jack's key on his neck. Maybe this could have thrown off the plane's navigational equipment causing it to crash??

5) The whole little mirror telescope thing was awesome!

I'll post more things on here as I remember more but hopefully this will get you thinking.

BTW, the whole Shannon seeing Walt was FREAKY!

Don't forget the number 108 painted on the wall, which is sum of "the numbers" added together.

And a picture of an eye in front of the words M SICK. "EYE M SICK".

The words quarantined appeared under the lid of the hatch. Meaning, the outside was quarantined?

Damn! I was trying to figure out what in the hell 108 meant! Wow...

And I had the same thoughts about the quaranteen signage! What we were thinking was that the island has some sort of disease (which is why Danielle killed her crew... they were 'infected'). This would work hand in hand with why Desmond injected maybe some sort of vaccine into his arm.

Excellent Theory!!!

AMAZING episode... UGH, man I hate this show. Keeps me so wrapped around it, thinking of different theories, etc...

The people who wrote this are great at building and secret keeping, that's for damn sure.

    • This piece of ###### is probably one of the most hated apps that ever existed.
    • Microsoft is bringing a much-needed Recap app to Teams, here is a first look by Usama Jawad Microsoft Teams is heavily used in work and school environments, and perhaps one of its core but extremely useful features is the ability to record meetings. In past years, Microsoft has further improved upon this functionality by integrating AI, but you do need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license to leverage most, if not all, all of those capabilities. Now, the Redmond tech firm is making another significant enhancement in the area of Teams meeting recordings. Up until now, if you wanted to access Teams recordings, you had to arduously locate the meeting invite and navigate to the dedicated tab, or go to the cloud storage location such as a SharePoint site. This was a rather overwhelming activity, especially if you don't remember the name of the meeting or the meeting occurred quite a while ago. Microsoft is now attempting to solve this problem through a dedicated Recap app that consolidates all your recordings. This centralized experience will allow users to find all recordings from the past 30 days and also offer access to other related services such as transcripts and AI-powered summaries. Customers will have the option to search for recordings, filter them, and review multiple meetings by generating AI-powered podcast-style recaps. The Recap app will list all available recordings in both thumbnail and list views. The former is shown below: And here is how Teams users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license can select multiple recordings to generate a podcast-style audio recap: Microsoft has emphasized that the Recap app is pre-installed in Teams but it will not be pinned by default. Users will able to navigate to the Teams app store from the left rail, and pin it from the apps section. It will be enabled by default for all users once it becomes available. It's worth noting that while Teams recordings and transcripts can be accessed by all users governed by existing permissions, AI-powered features like intelligent summaries, audio recaps, and video recaps will require a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. The Recap app will be generally available to Teams users on Windows, Mac, and the web by the end of next month, with mobile support coming soon.
