Or.... maybe Jack really did see his father walking around, and the island brought him back to life!  :D .....nahhhhhh!

Well there are a number of things people think about the show which could kind of make your guess correct. These are not spoilers but more speculation:

Ever noticed how all main characters have watches, yet the other people of the island dont?

Ever notice in the scene in season one, when the plan that contained the heroin fell, two moments before when the character was speaking to someone, the person at the other end said... No! we are the survivors of the crash, not you?

It is thought that all people in the crash died, but the 'others' are scientists that took their bodies and then cloned them. This is why locks legs work and michaels father has been seen walking around a few times. This does not explain why Locks legs stopped working at the plain scene however.

Although I haven't seen that bit... couldn't it simply be the back half of the plane? Why would the other 'cloned' guys be near a radio or even on the island...

Am I the only one who is sick of these damn flash backs? I mean cool, we're learning abit about the characters... but they take up half the episodes... and its been what, the last 2 and a half episodes of exploring the Hatch and its contents? To much lala land and not enough of whats going on on the island. :(

Edit: But I will jump in and say that its rather convenient (hopefully not for the stories sake) that they have a drug addict on the island trying to go straight and a heap of heroin turns up..

^ interesting theory!

so far everything has been explainable except the so called "visions".

the Magnetic propeties of the island explain a lot.

- why the plain crashed, and others have crashed.

- why locks legs work (magnetic healing properties)

- magnets enhancing ESP?

The magnets only exist around the power source generator.

If I wanted to throw the complete theory at you (probably been said, but there are alot of pages in this thread), then it would be that the island is a social experiment. (pushing the button, sharks to keep people from escaping, the weird traps to trick people into thinking some crazy stuff is going on, a boat sitting in the middle of the island). I mean, some of the behaviour have been odd, and worth of study in such a situation. The Sickness (if thats what there calling it) could be another test to see if they all think there really crazy.

It doesn't explain the more extreme things very well though (the visions, how strong... that guy was from season 1, the crazy wild boars, magically appearing polar bears). If Walt really does have some kind of special abilites, it would explain why they took him, to further there research.

I dunno tricky to be sure. I'm not sure if I want to show to explain something so that we can be more sure on which theory is the right one, or if I just enjoy being clueless. :(

(basing the idea of the training video you see in season 2, I think he mentions social experiments?)

i think social experiments is the most plausible theory right now

yes, that is what i thought of as well, but Lost is very very unpredictable. what you think, something else happens. when people seen the black guy pull open the jail, everyone guessed it was roses husband.. and then it flipped on us, and you know the rest.

same with the whole story so far.. the unpredictable happens..

im excited about tonights episode.. only 40minutes away :)

Interesting episode...at least we know "The Others" are human...or at least take human form. The one carrying the teddy bear freaked me out though...it is almost like they are zombies.

3 WEEKS until the next episode

when someone dies?

WHAT!?!?!

It's a classic setup episode leading up to 3 weeks from now, with a trailer that guarentees everyone will watch it.

omg.. the commercials are the worst.. thats why i record it, and watch it at 10.

and 3 weeks till the next episode!!! i didn't hear about this  and i didn't even see what next weeks episode was.. they didn't play it?

Wave,Oct 20 2005, 01:33]Same thing happened/is happening with Prison Break right now.? Sucks and is annoying.

Downloading the latest episode now:))

Very annoying indeed. Can't wait till Monday, only 4 days away for an ALL NEW PRISON BREAK EPISODE! (<3caps and it is much better than LOST right NOW in my opinion...) I have to agree with what Ashiaveli said.

    • Microsoft's fast coding model MAI-Code-1-Flash comes to Copilot Business and Enterprise by Karthik Mudaliar Microsoft’s recently announced MAI-Code-1-Flash model is now generally available to GitHub Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise customers. With this support, organizations can have more centralized policy controls and billing while finally being able to use Microsoft’s lightweight, first-party coding model. According to GitHub’s announcement, Business and Enterprise plan administrators must enable the MAI-Code-1-Flash policy in Copilot settings before developers can access the model. Microsoft says that MAI-Code-1-Flash is for fast, iterative coding work rather than the most demanding architectural or debugging tasks. GitHub’s official model comparison page says that the model is great for "general-purpose coding and writing," while it excels at fast, accurate code completions and explanations Microsoft introduced MAI-Code-1-Flash on June 2 as part of a broader collection of internally developed MAI models. GitHub subsequently expanded support to Copilot CLI, the Copilot cloud agent, GitHub.com chat, GitHub Mobile, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, Eclipse, and Xcode, but said support for managed Business and Enterprise customers was still on the way. In Microsoft’s own benchmark testing, MAI-Code-1-Flash scored 51.2% on SWE-Bench Pro, compared with 35.2% for Anthropic’s Claude Haiku 4.5. Microsoft also claimed that the model used up to 60% fewer tokens on SWE-Bench Verified. Do note that these are vendor-run results rather than independent measurements. The model is billed at provider list pricing under GitHub’s usage-based system. GitHub currently lists MAI-Code-1-Flash at $0.75 per million input tokens, $0.075 per million cached input tokens, and $4.50 per million output tokens. For organizations, the main incentive to use MAI-Code-1-Flash is likely to be efficiency rather than maximum capability. A smaller model that responds quickly and limits unnecessary output is quite useful for repetitive agent tasks at scale, especially after GitHub Copilot’s move toward usage-based billing. The "Flash" model is recommended for fast work and not necessarily for huge repositories with loads of context. It's better if teams compare their output with other larger models, especially if they're working on security-sensitive changes and complex, multi-file work.
    • yes AND no the "original" or plain/normal Optiplex 7010 won't be getting any more new firmware updates BUT the Optiplex SFF/SFF Plus {small form factor}, Micro/Micro Plus & Tower/Tower Plus 7010 editions DO get new updates such as this new one   and here are similar guides from the Dell web site for Dell systems: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000390990/secure-boot-transition-faq https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000347876/microsoft-2011-secure-boot-certificate-expiration
