I can see why people are slighly ****ed off with flashbacks, i mean 18 minutes of commercials and then the flashbacks is a joke!

i disagree. we're seeing different points in the lives of the survivors. how they were, and how they've changed since coming to the island. i think this not only builds the character as someone else mentioned, but it also opens each of the characters and shows us why they do/say the things do/say at a more personal level.

this week episode wasn't amusing . those korean ppl's story just su*k. losing the ring and finding it was the most boring part. i hope the next episode will be better than this one.

Ugh....it's not about Sun losing the ring. Don't you understand that? Do you need people to spell it out for you?

Every episode of Lost doesn't have to be "amusing" or intense. If each episode was like that, we'd all get bored very fast.

yeah it would turn into another... E.R. , where every single preview says the upcoming episode is "ONE THAT WILL CHANGE THE ISLAND FOREVER!!" :pinch:

It's called build-up. You can't have life shattering revalations every episode.

I really liked this episode. Just because there's no "action or suspense" doesn't it necessarily have to make it a good show. If you forgot already, most episodes during the first season were very similar.

The reason you have to wait 3 weeks is because they have to fill in 24 episodes from September to May. That is the reason why shows are hiatus for weeks at a time. I remember this happening the first 3 seasons of 24. It sucked. Finally Fox made a good decision and started the show in January running straight to May, withouth and breaks.

Maybe ABC will start this very soon knowing their fans can't wait.

The Foresters

There is a definite distinction between the barefoot, silent, reticent & apparently non-technological forest tribe that Jin and Mr Echo watched walking past and the clean, shoed, technological and un-reticent group of people on the speedboat who kidnapped Walt.

I believe that the Forest people are not the Others (as they have been labelled by the Tailenders) but are in fact previous survivors who have carved out a life within the island. This theory is supported by the fact that there have been numerous boats, submarines, planes, etc have been crashing and becoming stranded on the island over a very long period of time. We have also met several other survivors (Danielle and Desmond for example) who have obviously been able to survive in a variety of ways. This would also explain why some of the Foresters?s were wearing torn and dirty jeans and the teddybear who was obviously not made on the island. These survivors are also afraid of the Others (maybe because they have / or had a child with them who was taken like Danielle and Michael - why would a child carry teddy on string instead of cuddle it? And looks like adult feet - More like an adult carrying in hope of finding child again) and may actually have mistaken the Tailenders for Others themselves (they appeared suddenly, have technology and were perhaps violent).

This means that the Tailender's might have killed their own people after they became sick (and so would explain why bodies not buried - as fear of contamination) OR the Forester's could have killed them, mistaking them for Others or in self-defence.

Also, how did the Tailenders come to know and use the term "the Others" ? Jack, Michael and them got this term from Danielle. Yet the Tailenders seemed to know what this meant when Michael used it for the first time... Could it be that they have heard this term before and just assumed that the Foresters were Others as consequence? Could they have come into contact with someone else like Danielle? Or even Danielle herself?

Why would the Forester?s be walking towards where the Others come from? Like Michael, are they seeking to find and recover a lost child? Or do they do this trip regularly to find food (as Ana said more food in there)?

BTW: There was an interesting theory that Hurley inputted the worng number into the system in everyone hates hugo. thus hugo knows that the world doesnt blow up.

And that he's not going to say anything and continue to force everyone input the dreaded numbers he absolutely hates? I doubt it very highly...

If he did input the wrong numbers, he would be jumping for joy and start telling everyone!

THE CODE IS MEANINGLESS (at least immediately)

The world does not blow up immediately if the code is not entered properly!! How do we know this? Because Hurley did not enter the code and the island still remains... at least for now.

Remember in Everyone Hates Hurley, the big guy was asleep at his post when Kate entered the room. She woke up Hurley and reminded him that the code numbers were taped on a piece of paper right on the monitor. Hurley had to enter the code and fast as the warning system was already beeping. Sure, Hurley replied, he was aware of the code numbers. He won the friggin' lottery numbers with them, after all. But, Hurley also believes the numbers are cursed. They're totally evil in his mind. He tried to stop the hatch from being open when he saw the numbers on them, and he ranted against them when Locke was about to enter those six deadly digits into the computer for the first time without Desmond around. He stopped ranting when Locke entered them in wrong (putting 32 instead of 42). He stopped ranting because he saw Locke was mistaken and he wanted Locke to enter the numbers wrong!

Did Hurley actually enter the numbers correctly when Kay turned around? We can't tell as the director conveniently switched camera angles so we could no longer see what he was typing. Why do we assume he entered the code properly?? Why would he???? He believes the numbers are cursed! He had to have entered the wrong numbers. Watch this scene again and you'll see I'm right--why does the director change the camera angle so we can't see what Hurley is entering if this is not so?

To back this statement up, a short time later Charlie confronts his bud Hurley about the hatch (after Locke had informed Charlie about what was inside there). Charlie said that he also knew about the numbers that had to be entered or else the world would blow up (his words, not mine). Hurley, in a very defense posture, responded back that the world certainly would not blow up if the numbers weren't entered right--how would he know this unless he purposely entered the numbers wrong?? I tell you, all the clues are there that Hurley did not enter the numbers properly...

I think it is a good theory

    • Simple answer is yes, you will still get the Windows updates and as long as browser is up to date, you will be good. Only thing secure boot does is protect you against boot level threats and make it harder to install other OS's. I've been looking into this pretty thoroughly lately myself as wifes computer has secure boot disabled plus my other, older computers that run Linux, don't have secure boot enabled. Have seen all kinds of questions about this on the Linux Mint and MX Linux forums. Just don't suddenly enable secure boot now.

    • AltSendme 0.4.1 by Razvan Serea AltSendme is a minimal, cross-platform application designed for fast, secure, and private peer-to-peer file transfers. It allows users to send files or entire directories directly between devices without relying on cloud servers, accounts, or any personal information. Everything is encrypted end-to-end using modern protocols like QUIC and TLS 1.3, ensuring both strong security and low-latency performance. Transfers are verified with BLAKE3 for data integrity, and interrupted downloads automatically resume, making the experience reliable even on unstable connections. You can transfer anything—images, videos, documents, and more. Integrity checks are performed on both ends, so your files are automatically verified for correctness during both sending and receiving. AltSendme works seamlessly across local networks or long-distance links, capable of saturating multi-gigabit connections for extremely fast delivery. With built-in NAT traversal and encrypted relay fallback, it connects devices almost anywhere. The app integrates with the Sendme CLI and will soon support mobile and web platforms. Fully free and open-source, AltSendme offers a lightweight, privacy-first alternative to traditional cloud-based services, removing size limits, upload costs, and unnecessary data exposure. AltSendme 0.4.1 changelog: Release Highlights Self-hosted relays: Run your own iroh relay so transfers don't rely on public infrastructure. Includes a full deployment template in deploy/relay/ with Docker Compose for a VPS and configuration examples for production use. Fly.io support: One-click deploy template for Fly.io, including a quick-start config (fly.dev.toml) for testing without a custom domain, plus production setup with Let's Encrypt and your own hostname. Relay settings UI: New Settings → Network panel to choose how AltSendme connects: automatic public relays, custom self-hosted URLs (with optional auth token), or disabled. Test connections, verify latency, and see live relay status in the footer. Disable relays: Turn off relay servers entirely when you only need same-network transfers (e.g. LAN). Direct connections only. No relay hop required when devices can reach each other. Android graduates from beta: Android is now part of the regular release cycle alongside desktop. APKs ship with each version (universal, arm64, and armv7). Other improvements Private relay access control via shared auth token Relay fallback notifications when a custom relay is unreachable Broadcast mode toggle in sharing settings Android release build fixes (split-per-ABI APKs, universal APK preservation) UI polish: mobile safe-area insets, dropzone layout, transfer progress animation Bug fixes for minification-related serialization issues and system tray icon loading What's Changed feat(relay): add relay status functionality and settings UI (a120cdf) feat(relay): implement custom relay server configuration and verification (51276c7) feat(relay): add configuration for private relay access and enhance observability features (48fbabf) feat(relay): enhance relay URL validation, display connection status (d4fffa0) feat(relay): add RelayChangeGuard component and enhance relay-related translations (16ba514) feat(broadcast): add toggle setting for broadcast mode in sharing UI (ca6d977) fix(relay): correct QUIC discovery port, pin image, templatize fly.dev (52a2ba5) fix: More broken serialization due to minification (67491a9) fix(android): preserve true universal APK across per-ABI builds (e9f256f) fix(ui): conditional safe-area insets padding on mobile (1182f0e) refactor(transfer): CircularRing component animation fix (944572b) chore(android): drop x86 and x86_64 release APKs, keep universal+arm64+armv7 (34ada0b) Download: AltSendme 0.4.1 | ARM64 | ~9.0 MB (Open Source) Download: AltSendme for MacOS | Android Links: AltSendme Home Page | GitHub | Screenshot Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
    • You are mostly right about the ephemeral nature of it. As I mention in the article, if you dont add a second device or take a backup of your account before uninstalling it, then yes you will lose access to your account. That said, in terms of actual user experience when you sync multiple devices your message history carries across and there's also a Saved Messages chat like there is on Telegram to send messages and attachments between your installs. But yh, what you point out are correct and its not trying to emulate Messenger or Telegram.
