"Lost" TV Show - Currently Season 2 (US aired)

Yeah same here, but I think it's only fair. Not our fault that Channel4's budget is so stingy.

Side-note: How much of a scam are the DVD sets over here?! Releasing Season 1 as two sets so they could get more money out of us and more people would watch the 2nd half on Channel4 :(

Personally I only saw the last two or three episodes of Season 1 and then picked it up from Season 2. Seems to me like Season 2 has all the interesting bits?

funny you say that I stopped watching season 1 4 episodes before the end and then watched 9 episodes of season 2 straight off so I was up to date...many friends of mine are up to date in season 2 as well so its cool...hate being behind others...or "the others" :rofl: :laugh:

the box sets are a con...2 parts make it pricey and I want to get them but not that badly...rather wait till theres a complete season1...there is for america i think.

Yeah I'll get my sets ordered over from the US aswell, I think they're probably cheaper over there than they are over here anyway.

It's the same with CSI but I think they do that in the US too to make it more affordable. Season 1 episodes 1.1 to 1.11 (3 discs) and Season 1 episodes 1.12 to 1.24 (3 discs) for example. Damn HMV trying to charge you ?45 for 3 discs of CSI >_<

Lost - The Complete First Season DVD (2004)

Buy new: $38.98 = ?22.65

That's from amazon.com, bear in mind amazon.co.uk charge ?24.99 for each half! Typical rip-off Britain!

yea its out soon here soon i think - January 16th to be exact!

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B...0027072-5702214

woooo....time to make a purchase...on the american amazon :yes:

Oi, check my location mate, I'm not a bleedin' yank :p Also, it was in spoiler tags so it's not my fault if you're too curious :)

Sorry, was just generally cursing at time zones.. if it says it airs on the 11th, then it should be my 11th damnit.. I have to wait till 4pm-ish the next day :(

Here are some other things which will be in tomorrow's episode apparently, warning, may spoil it slightly.

"Eko [is] connected into the story of the drug plane," says executive producer Carlton Cuse. "People are curious about where that plane came from. We're gonna explain that." And what's Eko been up to with that big stick he's always carrying around? Reveals executive producer and cocreator Damon Lindelof, "He's carving Scripture on it." Remember the monster? We last saw it in May's season finale, when it appeared as a slithering mass of black smoke. "We will be seeing the monster in the January 11 episode," Lindelof says. Indeed, one character will have an up-close-and-personal encounter with the thing so viewers will get a better, longer look, too. Source: TV Guide (Printed edition)

Personal theory:

I don't think Eko was on the main plane. I think he either survived the drug plane crash, was the sole survivor and therefore turned to religion since those were the only resources he had, or he knew about the drug plane and was trying to locate it, hence his reaction when he found out Charlie knew where it was. Eko didn't appear to be looking for the drug plane before, but seemed very at home in the jungle.

that is a verry good therorie , seeing the Real one and then your personal theorie, seems, at least to me, fir right in.

OK I'm changing my theory now based on new info I have. Warning: The spoiler in my spoiler tags is a real one, it will ruin tomorrow's episode for you if you look at it! You have been warned.

Facts:

Eko is a Nigerian warlord. He goes into a church and demands that the minister in the church (Eko's brother) ordains him as a priest. (We will see this as a flashback tomorrow).

Speculation:

I'm thinking therefore that the drugs on the plane belonged to Eko. The religous theme was his cover for moving the drugs in and out of Nigeria to whatever the closest country is to the island. Sheer coincidence (as seems popular on the show) means that Eko has crash landed onto an island where one of his shipments went missing. He does not know this of course until he finds out that Charlie has a virgin mary statue. His interest is sparked, he sees the statue and instantly recognises it as one of his.

As for the gifs posted a few pages back which supposedly show the black smoke monster hitting the engine in the pilot causing it to blow up, the guys at The Fuselage say:

the explosion of the engine was caused by a guy getting sucked up into the works, not the smoke monster. whatever it is that people see on the freeze frame - it is NOT the black smoke monster.

The Dharma Flash Thing, with memberid, has no information, its going by a directory based.

	if (Key.getCode() == 13)
	{
		state = -1;
		loadVariables("check.php?code=" + memberid.text, "");
		gotoAndPlay(2112);
	} // end if
};

Is the code.. what its saying is take the text from the input and go to that site. the php file will do the rest, so it could be anything :(

Isn't that how one would expect it to work?

ignore the whole get code bit thing. that just tells the flash what to do when u press enter

the script takes the value of memberid u inputted and sends it to check.php. ifits right u get a nice output of a url which is the location of the next part of the puzzle

Read my revised theory. I think it's more likely

the Oceanic flight has crashed by pure coincidence onto an island which happens to contain a downed drug plane which is connected to one of the passengers.

Anyway, we need more conspiracy theories about the monster since it's being revealed today supposedly.

even dreamt about that damn member id screen...LOL....its taking over :no: :rolleyes:

    • Just another reason (aside from many others) not to use Edge. Firefox 153.0b5 DEx64 has a similar feature added recently in prior builds that I will turn off at some point when I get around to it. It's the new "Something looks suspicious" page that pops up here and there. It cleverly hides itself between web pages that I've actually visited; as a result, you know, of selecting a web page and telling the browser where to go. The interesting thing is that it does not produce these warnings from pages that I, as the only intelligent user of the browser in my system, have ever directed the browser to open! What seems to be happening is that the browser looks at all the goofy ad links on a web page I do actually open and selects one that "looks suspicious" and then creates the "something looks suspicious" web page, which is neatly inserted, as mentioned, between web pages my RB ("real brain") has directed the browser to load in a session. The thing is, I usually look at links I am considering to follow before I ask the browser to load them, and in cases I have noticed where the link does indeed look suspicious, most of the time I will choose to not follow the link at all. Doesn't everyone do this or something similar? I am picky about what I voluntarily load... (I don't like links that start off fine, with a site designaiton that seems normal enough but then is followed by indecipherable alphanumeric strings many, many lines long, etc. I tend to reject those because they look suspicious. They may not be, but I don't care... I'll stay with Firefox, of course, if for no other reason than they usually let you turn off the junk you don't like. And because it isn't Edge... But at some point Microsoft will come to realize that putting your bookmarks on the left side is a Good Thing for a lot of people, just as Microsoft discovered when it had the bright idea of nailing the Windows taskbar to the bottom of the screen, when for decades Microsoft browsers had left that placement up to the user. They have finally reversed the obscenity of that decision. Finally.
    • Google was using the old CATPCHAs data to train their LLMs. What is the say they won't use this camera data of users to train their LLM? these companies need some strict regulations!
    • Depends on what you need. Might be a bit clearer on what you plan to do with it. Sort of a waste if you get the newest and greatest, but don't know how to use it.
