Amazing episode. I think Mr. Echo's story is the most interesting yet, especially how he had "closure" in a way

when he found his brother and the plane

Did I see

people in the smoke

? Talk about weird...

A little spoiler (for those who haven't seen tonight's episode yet) below, since you are wrong about Mr. Echo's brother.

Mr. Echo was the head drug smuggler. His brother was a priest and was trying to stop Mr. Echo from leaving on the plane with his men and the drugs. In the process, his brother was accidently shot by the police trying to stop the plane. Mr. Echo tried to get his brother's body on the plane and fly away, but one of Mr. Echo's men push Mr. Echo off the plane at the last second. Mr. Echo watched his dead brother fly away.

The police thought Mr. Echo was his brother, the priest. Mr. Echo didn't tell the truth, else he would have been arrested

theres some funny comments in this ep

especially the

Echo: Climb That Tree

Charlie: NO!....What if I don't, you gonna, beat me with your Jesus Stick

that makes me laugh everytime i think about it

Good news UK folk. Season 2 is coming to Channel 4 in spring!

They did a nice little clip at the end of the program saying 'we know you want to know what's in the hatch' and then they showed clips from season 2 and said coming this spring!

I know most UK people have probably been downloading season 2 anyway. I can't say I blame you.

June 16th

i wonder if maybe the 'security system' is like the others in that it takes certatin people after seeing what kind of person they are. when it looked at mr echo it was like **** that!

!

I don't think so, as we never heard of the security system until that episode getting to the black rock... if its been scanning people, they would have noticed. :p

Do you think perhaps this cloud could unleash the "sickness" on people that it scans? I really don't think the French chick was nuts when she said they got sick.

Well

there were certainly images amongst the smoke (see below).

Mr. Eko I think has already given away the reason why the smoke didn't do anything to him...he wasn't scared of it.

OK I've got the caps of the smoke up and I've got a damn good idea of

some of the images shown in it!

Linked to imageshack so it doesn't spoil it!

Image 1

The church where Eko's brother was a priest.

Image 2

Eko's brother, the priest.

Image 3

The man Eko killed in Nigeria to save his brother.

Image 4

Eko wrestling the gun off his brother.

Image 5

Another man? Identity unknown, possibly Eko's sidekick without the gold tooth?

Image 6

Eko or Eko's sidekick with the gold tooth. Location unknown.

Image 7

A crucifix. Can't remember where this was exactly.

There are a couple more

flashing images in the smoke

but I can't figure out what they are.

My personal conclusion:

the smoke can either read/see your past or causes you to see/remember your past. That's unfortunately all we really know.

    • Microsoft kills AI-powered history search feature in Edge by Usama Jawad In June 2025, Microsoft began rolling out AI-powered history search functionality with Edge 138. The idea was simple: allow customers to use natural language phrases and synonyms to find their desired history items rather than matching keywords exactly. Although the company had already rolled out this capability in a phased manner, it has now decided to cancel it. In an update on its Microsoft 365 Roadmap, Microsoft has announced that it has decided not to move forward with AI-powered history search. The company has not detailed the exact reasoning behind this move, but it has apologized to customers for the inconvenience. The move is rather interesting as it seemingly could have improved user productivity. Edge users wouldn't have to worry about typos or exact keywords, and just focus on what they were trying to locate in their browser history. Microsoft had also assured users that an on-device AI model would be leveraged for this functionality, and no data would be sent to the cloud. IT admins also had the ability to control its availability through the EdgeHistoryAISearchEnabled policy. When the feature began rolling out last year, many of our readers called it creepy, noting that they couldn't trust Microsoft to keep their data on their device. Others also questioned its usefulness, saying that it's simply a way for Microsoft to insert more AI bloat into its products. Although the Redmond tech giant had stated that it will be more mindful about surfacing Copilot features in Windows 11 apps, we later discussed how this is mostly a rebranding exercise rather than an actual axing of AI functionalities. Indeed, a Microsoft executive later emphasized how they want to reshape Windows for the agentic AI era. That said, it does seem like at least AI-powered Edge history search isn't a part of that vision.

    • Not likely, of course, that we will see routine citizenship checks as they only involve compliance with existing federal voting laws already on the books for decades. This seems a non-issue entirely. Only fools would have the government rush headlong into an AI program few can understand or predict, or even debug...
