Something i noticed from lastnights episode

I think locke is a bad guy, in season 1, i remember locke speaking with walt about "in every game there is a good and bad side".. i believe walt is the good side and locke is the bad side, he's hiding something that is relavent to everything going on. Also, in this episode, if you'll notice he's writing on something with green chalk, when clair comes up to him, he puts the chalk in his backpack and that's it. BUT, when they show eko walking through the woods later in the episode, you see a tree clearly marked with green chalk, is locke making a path to somewhere? possibly to the others?

I'm still waiting for the episode that explains why Hurley hasn't lost any weight in the 50 days they've been on the island :D

As for last night's episode, it may not have had the others, or the smoke, or shooting, but it was still a worthy episode.

We had Eko marking trees that 'he likes'. Why? Is he going to start clearing jungle? Jack and Ana have been in and out of the jungle. What are they doing in there that has to do with Jack's 'army'? Why did Locke store the drugs instead of destroying them? Also, what was he doing with the door to that closet? Did he change the lock so that only he could get in? That could prove troublesome for next week when Jack wants those guns. What was up with the camera fixing at Locke at the very end of the episode?

Not every episode is going to be a wham, bam, run from the others, shoot people type episode.

green chalk? what green chalk? i don't remember anything about it... or seeing anything? can you point me out there?

on another note, it was interesting in some way, but expected more :D

Ok peole said the writers said that there was a clue in the skyline of something. anyone catch it?

battersea power station was the iconic building....there was some text but without hdtv and very clear screen you couldnt make it out

I put a warning in the thread's title to forewarn anyone coming in here that we would be discussing plots that have aired in the US. So if that is all we are talking about I see no need to put those in spoiler tags. Sorry for those non-US fans, but it airs here first so... nyah, nyah... ;)

Now if you want to post something that has not yet aired, then please spoiler tag it.

On topic, I don't think Charlie set those fires at all - doesn't he still have the tape around his fingers? That was the first thing I noticed, the fire starter did not have the tape.

We can still "acquire" it though :shiftyninja: :D

I think Charlie went a bit overboard this episode and setting the fire was a bit too far. Nonetheless Mr Eko is a legend!

^But he admitted to doing it.

This episode just made me feel sorry for Charlie. Locke's becoming more of an arrogant jack*** than anything else.

Did he? I must ahve missed that - oh well, toss that into the great big pile of theories that don't work. :)

Shhh... Neowin doesn't even want you to joke about that type of stuff anymore, so let's not even insinuate, ok?

I'm fairly sure the only time we see the tape on Charlie's fingers is during his first dream at the beginning of the episode.

That, and he confessed to setting the fire so he could distract everyone and grab Aaron in the confusion.

But, as someone mentioned, I don't think Charlie burned the trees Mr. Eko was marking. Charlie burned an area of mostly brush, while Eko seemed to be marking trees in the transition area from beach to jungle.

This is why I need DVR

You can still see the ring Charlie is wearing on his right hand when he is lighting the fire and even when he is talking to Locke before he isn't wearing the so-called tape around his fingers.

About Locke becoming arrogant. I think you're right. From the clips on next weeks episode we can see that he's going power hungry, hiding the weapons, and not wanting to tell Jack were are they.

One thing (of many :)) I don't get is, why Locke instead of destroying the Virgin Mary statues, locked them away????

more and more, it seems as if Locke is being set up as the antagonist, at least within the group of survivors. I can picture it coming down to 'Jack and those who want to fight' vs. 'Locke and those who want to reason'. The preview for next week already shows them about to throw down over the guns.

Charlie did not have tape on his hands when he was holding the baby. If you see the rings are the same for the person making the fire as charlie while holding the baby at the end of the show. I do not think they are the same trees as Eko marked. Eko's were closer to the water and beach with nothing between.

this episode made me feel sorry for charlie a bit and made me get annoyed at claire. just the way she shouts "my baby! my baby!" annoys the heck out of me. oh yeah and my liking for locke is also starting to go down. i liked it better when he went hunting and chucked knives at trees and stuff.

i agree with adrian. eko = legend. there need to be more ecko episodes.

i think locke kept the drug for medicinal use, like if somebody gets hurt, jack can ease the pain with it

Even in moderate controlled doses, heroin would probaby cause an addiction.

The last thing the island needs is another heroin addict or someone suffering withdrawal.

Few people take heroin and live to tell it.

morphine is basically the same as heroin is it not?

it might be useful for pain relief just like in hospital

After watching the episode, my only thought is that Locke was acting wiered. I can't really put my foot on it, but it's as if Locke acted completely different. He seemed more rash than usually. That's not to say that Charlie didn't deserve getting punched and all, but it seemed like Locke was out of character.

    • Simple answer is yes, you will still get the Windows updates and as long as browser is up to date, you will be good. Only thing secure boot does is protect you against boot level threats and make it harder to install other OS's. I've been looking into this pretty thoroughly lately myself as wifes computer has secure boot disabled plus my other, older computers that run Linux, don't have secure boot enabled. Have seen all kinds of questions about this on the Linux Mint and MX Linux forums. Just don't suddenly enable secure boot now.

    • AltSendme 0.4.1 by Razvan Serea AltSendme is a minimal, cross-platform application designed for fast, secure, and private peer-to-peer file transfers. It allows users to send files or entire directories directly between devices without relying on cloud servers, accounts, or any personal information. Everything is encrypted end-to-end using modern protocols like QUIC and TLS 1.3, ensuring both strong security and low-latency performance. Transfers are verified with BLAKE3 for data integrity, and interrupted downloads automatically resume, making the experience reliable even on unstable connections. You can transfer anything—images, videos, documents, and more. Integrity checks are performed on both ends, so your files are automatically verified for correctness during both sending and receiving. AltSendme works seamlessly across local networks or long-distance links, capable of saturating multi-gigabit connections for extremely fast delivery. With built-in NAT traversal and encrypted relay fallback, it connects devices almost anywhere. The app integrates with the Sendme CLI and will soon support mobile and web platforms. Fully free and open-source, AltSendme offers a lightweight, privacy-first alternative to traditional cloud-based services, removing size limits, upload costs, and unnecessary data exposure. AltSendme 0.4.1 changelog: Release Highlights Self-hosted relays: Run your own iroh relay so transfers don't rely on public infrastructure. Includes a full deployment template in deploy/relay/ with Docker Compose for a VPS and configuration examples for production use. Fly.io support: One-click deploy template for Fly.io, including a quick-start config (fly.dev.toml) for testing without a custom domain, plus production setup with Let's Encrypt and your own hostname. Relay settings UI: New Settings → Network panel to choose how AltSendme connects: automatic public relays, custom self-hosted URLs (with optional auth token), or disabled. Test connections, verify latency, and see live relay status in the footer. Disable relays: Turn off relay servers entirely when you only need same-network transfers (e.g. LAN). Direct connections only. No relay hop required when devices can reach each other. Android graduates from beta: Android is now part of the regular release cycle alongside desktop. APKs ship with each version (universal, arm64, and armv7). • You are mostly right about the ephemeral nature of it. As I mention in the article, if you dont add a second device or take a backup of your account before uninstalling it, then yes you will lose access to your account. That said, in terms of actual user experience when you sync multiple devices your message history carries across and there's also a Saved Messages chat like there is on Telegram to send messages and attachments between your installs. But yh, what you point out are correct and its not trying to emulate Messenger or Telegram.
