+Mystic MVC Posted October 3, 2004 MVC Share Posted October 3, 2004 wow joe daily is almost single handedly destroyed the husker offense this year. any1 else notice this he he he. probably going to set the single season interception record at this rate  At least we pulled it out barely against KU though, did anyone else think NU practically gave KU the game? L3thal Veteran Posted October 4, 2004 Veteran Share Posted October 4, 2004 NU was close enough to give it away. If it weren't for those penalties at midfield while KU had the ball, it would've been a disaster.
Hupp
its just scary to watch joe daily throw the ball anymore. A few things i don't like about this season, i haven't seen the option once, hell VT my 2nd fav team runs it more than NU now. In the KU Game I barely saw Herian get a ball even thrown at him. If hes a key player you should find a way to get the ball near him. Callahan seems to put the team into conservative mode every game in the 2nd half. BroChaos Veteran Posted October 4, 2004 Veteran Share Posted October 4, 2004 they aren't gonna run the option anymore...isn't that what they said. they are gonna be a west coast team or something now. gonna end up crappy like ND...
L3thal Veteran Posted October 4, 2004 Veteran Share Posted October 4, 2004 Yes, they gave up their running style and are transitioning to the west coast offense. It just seems like this QB doesn't fit the system Callahan is forming.
BroChaos Veteran Posted October 4, 2004 Veteran Share Posted October 4, 2004 yep, just like ND. it's gonna be a rough few years for nebraska, since their recruits up to last year were all meant for the old offense.
Hupp
Well they said they werent going to throw the option away was what Callahan said in the first few press conferences. I love the WC offense because its ment to hit you were you are weak but man i loved the option even like just once because it is one of the best plays to score when or get a few yards near the goal line. Rather than callahans plan of being on the 9 yard line and throwing 3 straight downs... arg..

Hupp
college is all about momentum. Since its young kids playing between 18-24 usually they are affected by the crowd and previous events. They also play because they want to and love the sport usually not because they are paid to play. Its also more fun to watch their are something like 116 division 1-a college teams vs the 32 or so pro teams. College in my opinion is more fun to watch just because any week anyone can beat anyone. L3thal Veteran Posted October 7, 2004 Veteran Share Posted October 7, 2004 I watch both, but I find college football a little faster, though they should get rid of the damn stopping the clock on first down. That stupid rule slows down the game dramatically (length wise).
