Well. Sony did a pretty good job with the PS 2, I think more PS 2's sold than any other console in the past year or two. When people can go portable with Sony I'm assuming it's going to be a hit.

Actually the GBA has outsold the PS2 over that period. So they both have a history of success behind them.

Plus PS2 games rock and to be able to play same games we all love on PSP!

What's the point of having the same games. Especially considering many of the good ones rely on the fact that you can sit down and play for extended periods of time.

just like n-gage... :p we all remember the n-gage right...

yeah no joke! I mean common, the PSP is supposed to be released for $250-300 (USD) ...... UMMMMMMMMMMMMm........ are they NUTS! That's more expensive than a console..... you could buy like 3 gamecubes for that price... PSP is much too expensive, if you want ps2 grafix games, get a ps2.

Yep, I've bought a couple :D

And if Nintendo's claims about Sony's PSP having a 2 hours battery life is even remotely near the truth then Sony are in dire trouble, even if they have an amazing line up of games (I love the way the DS was slaughtered a few posts up for remakes then they go on to list GT, MGS and Twisted Metal as the glorious PSP games  as if they're brand new innovative titles!).

Anyway, mine'll be winging their way across the Atlantic at the end of November:

The PSP needs to sorts out its battery life, gotta have at least 6 hours, 8 is good but it's looking like that's not going to be the case in the slightest. Another thing that annoys me is that we'll have to puchase a Memory Stick to save out games :/ But still, if Sony get round all that I'll be preordering a couple of those as well...

I wont be buying either of those, the price for the PSP is too high, and like most people say the battery life sucks. And de N-DS loks aweful IMO and how the hell will the touch-screen be implemented...

For example, you're playing a FPS or something, and pointing with the styling, walking with the D-Pad... how do you fire?! plus I don't like the game-line-up :p

Y'all just have fun with your handhelds

Well Sony said 2.5-7 hours for gaming battery life, depending on how hard a game pushes the hardware.

However they are encouraging developers not to push hard now to try and keep most games closer to the high end of that range - in other words don't expect some of the games they've shown to look quite as good when they come out, GT4 I'm looking at you.

Quoted for emphasis.

Your clearly a nintendo fanboy..  I have a gamecube, n64, GBA SP, gb pockey, gb, gb color, snes, nes.  They did great until gamecube.  They just, flopped since gamecube game out.  All the stuff they do is just retarded.  They ruined mariokart on gamecube, and luigi's masion?  Wtf are they thinking?  Mario Sunshine?  More pokemon?  The only thing nintendo has done right IMO is metroid, that was the reason I bought gamecube.  Metroid is awesome, but other than that nintendo is dead to me.  If you look at DS's line up there is no way in h3ll it is aimed at 18-20yr olds..  No way.  Nintendo puppy... come on!

wow you bought all those nintendo products and you say if someone over 20 buys a nintendo ds they are trying to relive their youth? how old are YOU!?!? and did it ever dawn on you that maybe just maybe they could like electronics period? for you to generalize that they are tryign to relive their youth by buying it is a pretty childish. buy a gameboy sp and go out a year after the sp and buy a ds and NOW they are reliving their youth.. lmao thats funny! funny thing is that your gonna buy a ds for the metroid game again so come on and pay up to relive ur youth.

Who cares? Look at the price of the iPod.

Good stuff costs money. Deal with it.

If you want a playskool handheld to play hello kitty

then get a gameboy.

Nintendo has a wonderful base of 'fun/light 'Mult-Player games(Think Smash bro, Mario Kart..).

Sony has a fantastic line of RPGs and a more 'serious' line of Multi-Player games(GTA, Twisted Metal, Socom)

Different people will buy the console of their choice... it depends on what they are interested in. Each handheld has a market they are aiming at and I am sure the Nintendo DS and the PSP will have a fine time co-existing. Flame wars are irrelivant!

    • After enabling it in about:config, customize, density, compact; the toolbar/address bar gets smaller vertically. I enabled Nova, I notice the tab bar/title bar is a bit larger vertically now? Everything always becomes a waste of space.
