Frank
When I right click on the desktop, at the top of the list is the "ATI CATALYST Control Panel". I would like to change the name of this to "ATI Control Panel". How can I do this?

aco Veteran Posted October 13, 2004 Veteran Share Posted October 13, 2004 It will be under that location, but you probably won't be able to change the name from there. I don't have a computer with an ATI card here, but for nview (nvidia's equivalent)...I loaded nview.dll from windows/system32 with ResHacker ( http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/ ) and was able to find the context or right-click menu items under String Table then change their names. Search for "Control Panel" in the dll file associated with catalyst cp using reshacker, make sure you disable the control panel before editing the file otherwise it won't work.
