Ethernet vs. Token Ring

hi guys,

got a assignment to do and i am pretty stuck with gathering information so i thought i would ask here. basically i have to write up the advantages and disadvantages of both ethernet and token ring networks and how both of them work.

i know its not a lot to go from but seriously thats all i need, the simpler the better really, damn lecturers :D

If you're at the stage where you're refering to teachers as lecturers, then you shouldn't need help.

Just look up both types. Compare & contrast.

He didn't say "write my paper for me". The RTFM attitude just reinforces the lack of social graces of so many users these days.

you took the words right from my mouth. im not looking for you to write the thing, i have been googleing around and found some relevent things and some that goes way beyond what i want.

thanks again for your support! you have to understand my knowledge on network is very poor as i have only just started the course (before you ask i am not doing a networking course) it a multimedia course and the lecturer has landed the whole class in it when he asked for this assignment.

thanks for the link ManroWeb it was very useful, the concept on how these 2 work is becoming clear to me, from what i gathered token ring networks are practially dead, what i need to know is why and what makes ethernet so much better.

remember we all have to start somewhere!
