xMorpheousx416
Ok, for sometime now, I have had this issue plague me since installing XP. On any other login but the primary login (first on the list created during setup), Windows Explorer crashes if you right click any sound/video media file. No matter what folder it's in. Try and duplicate this for me, and see if it happens to you: Create another acct. Make it an admin level acct. Logon to that acct, and find a song file, and right click it. Or click on the file, and then click on FILE in the menu bar. If Explorer does crash, and you are able to figure out why, please let me know. Thanks. p.s. Microsoft has no clue as to why this happens. I've already been that route...and have been submitting the crash results for the past two years. Aviran
This is a solution to another problem, but it just might help in your case Open regedit and go to: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.avi\shellex\PropertyHandler Delete the value you find there. morficus
wow.. 2 years... you are tolerant dude - haha tried re-instaling XP? Or maybe change the defalt program that handles your media files. I don't know much about the registry... but this is all I can think of...
