Nope.

Anyone who is influenced by games to be violent has a serious problem knowing the difference between reality and a dream.

"If i ever catch you, i'm gonna pull out your eyes and chuck them down your pants, so you can watch me kick the crap outta you okay, and then i'll use your tongue to paint my boat"

It definitely depends on the maturity of the gamer. Note that I didn't say age, but maturity. Two very different things. An immature gamer (usually younger) who is easily influenced (i.e. doesn't have a basic understanding of proper behavior, etc.) would most likely be affected by those types of depictions in a game. However, there are always the people who seem "too mature for their age," and know wrong from right, and are just having fun without being mentally influenced.

no. games dont cause violence. not anymore than a book or a show or a movie. but i consiter it part of the art, so long as it adds to the game. kind of like swears in a classic novel, you wouldnt edit the book to keep kids who read it in school from saying it. its part of our expression as culture, should it be gore, fine.

if you hurt someone because a game, you have bigger problems.

i did an essay on violence and video games for college... needless to say i agree that video games cause increased levels of agression in young children that can lead to violence. I have been playign games for years and im pretty much passive and unviolent but thats because my homelife was positive and i had no reason to act out. Un fortunatly some kids don't have it as easy as me and they might take their frustrations out on vide ogames. Which can lead to further aggression and violence... my 2 cents

sure they do, just the other day while I was driving home I pretended to be in Grand Theft Auto and drove over a bunch of people and then......

No they don't!

I took the bait for a second haha

Hmm according to my psychology book it is proven that pornography leads to violent behavior. But remember guys correlation does not mean cause and effect. But in that case it was proven. My book doesn't say anything about gaming though.

You'd want to be careful using the word "proven" there.

Games will not make your average sane-minded person inflict violence on another person, of that I'm sure. When you play a game you know it's not real life; you know that it would be wrong to attempt a "Crash Junction" in your local high street just because you've been playing Burnout 3.

The trouble is that games make the most ideal scapegoat when the media wants a reason why a kid kills another kid with a hammer. As we probably all know, this happened recently here in the UK. The papers went nuts pointing the finger at "Manhunt". It later turned out that it was the victim who had been playing the game and not the perpetrator. The media chose to ignore that fact.

Games are fine so long as every measure is taken to protect young, influential minds from mature titles such as GTA, Silent Hill & Resident Evil etc. This is not an easy task but it is down to retailers, who should not sell these games to minors and, more importantly, parents to ensure they know what their kids are playing.

    • Microsoft released new Defender update for Windows 11, 10, Server ISO installations by Sayan Sen Microsoft releases new Windows Defender update packages very frequently to protect against various newly discovered malware. Once a while every three months or so, the company also pushes out these updates to Windows images (WIM and VHD) and ISOs, that are used to install Windows. Hence with the newest Windows 11 update available via the official MCT tool, you should get these definitions. This update package is necessary as a Windows installation image may contain old, outdated anti-malware definitions and software binaries. Aside from better security, these updates can also provide improved performance benefits in some cases. When a new Windows installation is set up, there may be a temporary security risk due to outdated Microsoft Defender protection in the OS installation images. This happens because the antimalware software included in these images might not be up to date. Thus Microsoft says that these updated definitions essentially help close this protection gap. Microsoft delivered the latest security definitions for Windows images via security intelligence update version 1.445.323.0. The Defender package version is also the same. It applies to Windows 11, Windows 10 ESU, Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021, Win 10 Ent LTSC 2019, Win 10 Ent LTSB 2016, Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2016. Microsoft writes: "This package updates the anti-malware client, anti-malware engine, and signature versions in the OS installation images to following versions: Platform version: 4.18.26040.7 Engine version: 1.1.26040.8 Security intelligence version: 1.447.236.0" From Microsoft's security bulletin, we learn that the security intelligence update version 1.447.236.0 was released early last month and adds threat detections for various malware like trojan, backdoor exploits, ransomware, stealers, AutoKMS, and more. For those wondering, the latest intelligence update is version 1.451.297.0 at the time of writing.
