For managing my music I use Exaile. For a lightweight player I use Audacious. Both are great at what they do. :)

I vote Exaile as well. I've recently started using Linux again and other than mplayer, that's the only one I've used and I don't see much need to try anything else. I don't like xmms or Audacious becuase I don't like the look of the player and the organization of the playlist, and Songbird seems too.... well I don't know how to explain it. It just feels so bloated. I just want something that has my music organized, i can make playlists, and I can play my music. I don't need all the other stuff.

It's been a beta of Winamp 3 since 2001.

Which hasn't been updated since and won't work on modern Linux distributions. Don't even bother trying.

On topic: IMHO Amarok is the best audio player for Linux.

The one thing I hate about amarok is the way it does ipod, I don't know if it's a kde problem too or what. When I plug in my ipod in a gnome distro using rhythmbox or banshee, my ipod pops up int the player I can add songs or w/e then eject it no problem. In amarok in KDE It doesn't detect my ipod at all and it doesn't even mount, when I do get it connected it doesn't eject and sometimes ejecting it through kde doesn't even work. Annoying as hell. Amarok also seems sluggish compared to Rhythmbox, I also don't really like Amarok's interface all that much compared to Rhythmbox. I actually like banshee the mosy UI wise, but it is pretty slow, and crash prone.

I'm a Rhythmbox user myself. Like others, I prefer the clean interface and overall stability (in Gnome anyways). I've tried others and I always go back to Rhythmbox. Another thing that it has going for it is the Last.fm plugin that actually works. Last.fm is practically a necessity for me and it didn't work correctly in Amorak. I do like the layout of Exaile, however I didn't see a plugin for Last.fm. Maybe if there was I might consider using it.
