ANova
Windows file protection keeps complaining about the patched uxtheme.dll whenever the computer starts up. Is there any way of disabling this short of turning off WFP?
boooggy
go to windows services and disable from there. right click on start button>open all users>programs>Administrative Tools>serices. or get xplite or tweak xp pro. they have a fuction called disable windows file protection. eevoo
He said with out turning it off. You can try this is you have XP pro, bring up a run prompt and type gpedit.msc go to Computer Configuration/Admin Templates/System/Windows File Protection Double click Set Windows File Protection scanning It should be set to not configured by default, if it's not set the scanning frequency to "do not scan during startup", or just disable it. That might do the trick. Thought I could of sworn I saw somewhere that you could set it to not show a popup. This may not help and you may just end up turning it off, but it's worth a try. umteen
Interesting , I don't get asked at bootup about a file that I have modified. It asked me once when I made the change and I told it to save the changed file. Since then it has been quiet, not said a peep. The "Windows file Protection" , is unconfigured in my setup. ANova
eevoo - Yeah I have already tried that and windows seems to completely ignore it. umteen - It was the same for me originally but I have since reinstalled windows with SP1 slipstreamed and now it consistently complains for some reason. I guess i'll just disable it.
