Don't understand what you mean at all. Don't you read english in germany? Why should I make so many choises when people will only use one of them anyway. There will be the 4 styles I have said. That's it. The file will get to big otherwise.

Well I want the alt starbar and the everything compaq expect the starmenu. But if you can't do it I understand. great theme. keep up the greet work.

No, sorry. Now I can't do any more styles. If I make one more I'm crossing 1mb, and I don't want that.

ok I respect. But can't you just post another zip that less then a meg?

or like just zip that one and put in on neowin. I just really like the compaq theme but not big fan of the startbar or could you tell me how modify the compaq theme to have regular startmenu?

I love the new startbutton but is it possible to also include a thin taskbar with the original startbutton?  I love the original green start button but I want thin taskbars....  thank you SO much!!!

First off, this is one of the Best vs's I have seen in a while. What makes it even nicer is the fact that it is actually usable, eg. not overly bright and not annoying to use for extended periods, etc. Really Nice!

It would definitely be nice to also have the green start button with the awesome thin taskbar. This would satisify those who like either the fat or thin taskbar and give them the same choices... Many thanks to em3 for sharing, and for the superb work!!

Wonderful work em3, I love this theme.

I have some suggestions for the thin version:

1.

- reduce the height of the lower part in the startmenu (I've chosen 28px)

- full startmenu :)

2.

- darker instead of lighter inactive captionbars (IMO they look nicer)

I applied these changes on my computer, this is how it looks now:

On the contrary, I really do like the darker inactive captionbars. I also think your suggestion concerning reduction of lower part of start panel is useful. Of course it's the prerogative of author to do as he pleases. Either way, this VS is an accomplished effort and we are very happy with it. Excellent! :)

I ran into problems when I resized the lower part of the start menu the last time I tried. I will try again though. That looks good. :)

If anyone know how to do this I would appreciate it. For me the buttons won't resize even though the properties are set to stretsh.

    • Normally, I admit when a title is clickbait (unfortunately, it's become somewhat necessary in AI-dominated news sections today), but in this case, all supported versions is implied and doesn't need to be spelled out in the title. Of course, I'm covering a Patch Tuesday update but that is only available to supported Windows SKUs. All our coverage relates to supported Windows software and SKUs only unless we expressly state that it's "unsupported", "unofficial", or "third-party". I'm sorry, but supported/official SKUs don't need to be spelled out as such in every Neowin headline.
    • ALL versions or ALL SUPPORTED versions? Neowin does it again.
    • But the reality is it will work for people's needs, and they don't care about the technology that makes it. Clearly not everyone's needs, but that low end space where personal laptops were only used to type emails, watch content and browse websites, but they didn't want to do that on a small screen device. Heck, writing that out I can now see the connection and reason it'll do so well. Apple is about experience. If the experience is bad, they don't release it. Low end Windows laptop manufacturers up until this point have not taken that into consideration ever before, so slow laggy usage with brittle slimey plastic shells were common. I hope that the low end space at least creates better physical products that last a bit longer, and if Microsoft get their act together, they could also have a solid OS on such low end hardware that would actually make the experience work for what the hardware was intended for. The fact that the CPU is a "cellphone", sorry mobile phone processor is irrelevant. It's about the experience, and so far, that sounds quite solid.
    • Hello, Bonjour is Apple's implementation of a multicast-DNS service, which allows devices running Apple's software and/or hardware to find each other on your local network.  I believe the Windows version was last updated around 2010. If you do not need it, you can stop and disable the Bonjour service in the Services Control Manager (filename: SERVICES.MSC).  Once you have done that, the operating system will no longer attempt to load the service.
