Yamaha sound drivers?

Recommended Posts

I downloaded Linux Mandrake 8.0 on my laptop a few weeks ago and it works great :). Yet the only problem is there is no support fro Yamaha sound cards :( since they a diferent frequency, I just hear a unsteady tone and cannot listen to anything. Sndconf claims that it supports all yamaha cards when a i chose another Yamaha sound drivers it says this device is not supported!! I have tried Redhat Linux and Debian and nothing works. I have tried looking for linux drivers and was unsucessful, I even tried making my own driver (long story :) ). The drivers needed are for a "16-bit full duplex 3D-Wide 48kHz" sound card. If anybody has any info pelase post it.

Thanks.

Thanks alot!

I hope it will work, i am using a sound card that has a Sondius XG chip, I cant find out which model it is, since its on a laptop. Btw, I tried doing a network install of Mandrake 8.1 over ftp, and it downloads the first file normall, then it has a script error and quits :( does anybody else have that problem?
