zivan56
I downloaded Linux Mandrake 8.0 on my laptop a few weeks ago and it works great :). Yet the only problem is there is no support fro Yamaha sound cards :( since they a diferent frequency, I just hear a unsteady tone and cannot listen to anything. Sndconf claims that it supports all yamaha cards when a i chose another Yamaha sound drivers it says this device is not supported!! I have tried Redhat Linux and Debian and nothing works. I have tried looking for linux drivers and was unsucessful, I even tried making my own driver (long story :) ). The drivers needed are for a "16-bit full duplex 3D-Wide 48kHz" sound card. If anybody has any info pelase post it. Thanks.
configure Veteran Posted October 12, 2001 Veteran Share Posted October 12, 2001 Can you please be more specific about your soundcard? What model is it? If I were you, I would try grab the latest ALSA and go from there... good luck :D

I hope it will work, i am using a sound card that has a Sondius XG chip, I cant find out which model it is, since its on a laptop. Btw, I tried doing a network install of Mandrake 8.1 over ftp, and it downloads the first file normall, then it has a script error and quits :( does anybody else have that problem?
