10) Cry when your load times go through the roof.

just turn off the playerskins caching - dropped my load time on maps when joining online games from about 2mins to 20 seconds :)

I know about that. After I reinstalling and getting rid of the 1000s of maps that i've installed over time, I got increased FPS, it no longer crashed every few hours, load times were reduced from a few minutes to seconds, it didn't freeze up all the time...

That was a couple of months ago, I haven't downloaded any custom maps except a few that are in the cache and it's still running as smooth as ever. I don't know if it was just me, but I wouldn't recommened downloading several gigabytes of maps just for the sake of it.

How weird, never had a problem with long load times in UT2004, not even with all of those things.. now it could be my Raptors :D ..but even before when I had a Maxtor 120Gb drive and Athlon XP2500 it still loaded always in about 20 seconds or so, depending on the level.

Is Playerskin caching on by default? And if you do turn it off does it cause a pause in-game whenever an uncached player skin comes on screen?

not 100% right there. its only on by default if you have enough ram(512mb min.) for it i think. it wasnt on by default for me iirc as i only have 256mb.
