The Release Of Half Life2

Recommended Posts

What a life. Sitting at home for the next 32 hrs with a fridge fulla beers. No work, no school. just sittin there...

Must be the son of a millionaire.

Either way, try a real life for the next 32 hrs till you end up a slave to your monitor.

Btw, whats the gf think about this? Assuming you have one. (probably not)

Anywho, congrats. Being I won't be able to play till this coming weekend cause of work and all the burdens of having a life.

I'm gonna schedule no downloads for that day and im gonna be auto-refreshing www.ircspy.com every 5 secs till its released :D

Whereas at 8am GMT, i'm gonna reload Steam and unlock the game before going to work.. rather than hoping someone manages to release a hax0red version, and then have to sit waiting through a 4GB download that about 8 zillion leachers are gonna be trying to get whilst 2 people seed it.

That is if they manage to crack it quickly. If.

Yeah god forbid he gets excited about a very promising game. Have fun this weekend it must be great to be able to belittle people on your spare weekends when 'real life' isn't stopping you from anticipating the release HL2. Only 30 hrs now. Not that I wont have class preventing me from the full release tomorrow.

In future posts try not to sound like such a prick.

I am ready for Half-Life 2 also... got a fridge full of coca cola as i don't drink alcohol

Why do you feel the need to tear som stranger down? What's he done to insult you" Maybe the dude just excited about the game?

I am quite excited too! And yes, I do have a wife, house, and a job I love. No I am not a millionaire (far from it) or the son of one. I still plan on playing HL2 the day it comes out. I worked an 11 hour day on Friday, even if release day is the same, I will still find time to play it. It is OK to be excited about a game.

Im pretty much doing the same thing but I have a life.

It's the holidays and and wont be working/schooling again till next years so I basically have all the time in the world to prepare and then play. That dosn't mean I will be sitting infront of my computer for 30 hours though lol.

Doing that would make the wait longer. I sugest you go do things to take your mind of it if its reall that bad.

Better yet, hibernate, then youll be able to play for 30 hours strait.

when its officially the 16th 12am pacific time the HL2 activation servers will be put onlne. No mater if you get a CD or get it on steam, it will be the same time, you can buy it at best buy now, install it now, but cant play it till the 16th after you activiate it over steam (this includes single player)

just got the Silver PAckage over steam as it costs the same as the collectors edition, and includes more games.

HL2 CS : S are finished downloading and played CS earlier.

So when is Half-Life 2 comming out over steam? The release date on IGN and EBGames is Nov 15th, which is tomorrow. Is there a specific time tacked on to that?

    • If you don't care to read what I said, then you prove my point. Maybe written media is beyond your attention span. Titles are not summaries my friend.
    • Nobody asked... in fact, I said "I don't care about political leanings"
    • TLDR. Here is a far better title (just a basic example): Windows 11 26H2 to allow disabling Web search results
    • Restore will get my vote, only if to see if things are any different, doubt it though but Labour and Conservatives too out of touch and same thing over and over and over…, Lib Dem who?
    • There is nothing wrong with this title. You have completely missed the plot when it comes to "clickbait." The issue was never that a title tries to entice you to click, that is how titles have worked for over 100 years. The issue is when the title subverts expectations, getting you to click expecting something that isn't there. The classic clickbait example is "Boyfriend caught cheating, what happens next will shock you," then what happened next is the girlfriend was upset...which is probably the least shocking outcome imaginable. If sounds like what you want is for the titles to be a collection of 10-word summaries that you can skim, get the just of the story, and only click if you want more details. That is not, never has been, and never will be what titles are. You can go all the way back to print newspapers during the great depression and see the same thing. The newspaper was locked in a vending machine, all you can see is the headline, you choose to put in 5¢ to buy the paper and read the rest if you want. Those headlines were written in a way to sell the paper, not just to provide a summery. Here are two actual headlines from that time, "Wall Street Lays an Egg," or "Stocks Hit Bottom?" Maybe you'd say something like "it was wrong then and it's still wrong now." Okay, fine opinion to have, but it isn't like Neowin is doing something unjurnalistic, they are just following the age-old standards for written media.
