Yeah I think they jsut shut it down cous of the HL2 hype. Some many posters. Like every to seconds someone would be up there saying "15 mins 8 secs left!" :p

I've asked before, but is this officially confirmed by Valve? I haven't seen anything from them about the official time and have a sneaking suspicion it won't be released at midnight PST....

i heard there was people at valve today getting in some last minute reviews as vavle doesnt send review copies out but will fly press in to review the game aperently everyone went home exept the reviewer and one guy to say behind with him. guess they must have it on an automaic 12am or valves has remote access to the turn on the hl2 authentication server :cool:

Let's just hope that the final preload/unlocking download isn't too big.

And you would think that Valve would have thought of the many people who will be wanting to play it the moment it is released; I'd be highly surprised if they don't have a handful of servers in reserve just for the final preload/authentication sequence.
