AHHHH!!!!!!! :pinch:

Just remember, whether it's "too good to be true" or it sounds just alright NEVER EVER USE WESTERN UNION on ebay

BTW, why u need a need one? As long as it works fine, what's wrong with few monthes old ones? Another thing is, in London there are thousand of foreigners, someone doesn't speak good English (like me). Doesn't mean that someone is a scammer?!

Hey guys...

I too have been in negociations with Mr Tomek...

He's got a G5 and 30" Display that he wants to sell me for $3000....

Sounds too good to be true...

I have been talking to him and he had almost fooled me until I did a search for Klaus Tomek on yahoo and found this forum...

Ive received all the same emails as seen in the forum...

He has given me his address as in Dover...

The G5 and Display are APPARENTLY in his warehouse in New Castle in a "Tax free zone"...

I asked for a picture to be sent to my phone but he could only send one that "his partner" had taken of a previous order... (To be fair it was of a G5 but only a 23" Display)

I was always dubious but now am confirmed that it is a scam after reading this forum...

He wouldn't even accept me going to visit him in Dover with $3500 CASH!!! .......

He wont give me a phone number, he wont gve me an address, nothing...

Like someone said... too good to be true... Its a shame cos I would love to have bought it!

It gets so much better!!

I sumarized to him today why i think its a scam...

1) The spec is out of this world... In fact, I went to the apple website, selected dual G5, customize it turning all options to full and would get the spec he's selling... (total on the site came to ?10,200!!!!! - rediculous)

2) He said that it was stock bought from a store that closed down... I worked for computer stores before... No store would EVER keep such a spec in stock! It is so specialised... They might sell one in a lifetime. It is something that would be purchased specially from apple...

3) He says the stock is in a "tax free" zone in Newcastle... Thats a load of crap... There are no tax free zones in the UK (Except for port authority depots - and I doubt it's in one of those!)

4) I asked for a picture, but he only sent a picture of a previous mac which had a 23" screen... I want a picture of the one im supposed to be buying...

5) I said I would only go through with i if I could meet him at the given address of Dover - there I would phone up western union in front of him and trasfer money then he could call UPS and send the package... We'll see what he says!

Basically... IF this is real and IF the spec is correct... there is only one place it can come from... Apple warehouse... and that means it will not be legitamate... (I dont think apple are in any state of going bankrupt!)

Almost had me hooked too... Glad I typed in Klaus Tomek into yahoo and found this forum!

Be extremely careful when buying expensive things on ebay. Powerbooks especially. There are so many scams going on for those things, so just watch youself. Check his feedback, email him, do whatever. Be careful.
