The ending wasn't the ending.

It was just the end of the game. They pulled it off pretty well, but the story isn't finished yet. It ties together everything that took place in the game, but very obviously shows what's going to happen next.

What temple are you talking about? Master Chief goes back to Earth at the end.

Getting Kinda fed up of these half assed endings that serve no purpose except make you buy the next game in the seris, that may or may not come out, or when they do its years later. They should have some sort of closure to them and leave it open for a sequal, not write it so there HAS to be a sequal.

Its like the ending of HL2

Utterly pointless in my mind, oh joy you've saved the day. Now get back in your box, you've learnt nothing important which advances the story much.

The ending was TWO damn seconds long. I was expecting it to at least explain parts of what happened etc, but no :/

Halo 1 was the story of finding Halo and the release of the Flood.

Halo 2 was the story of the Arbiter, and the uprising within the Covenant, along with the discovery of another Halo, but no extremely dangerous release of the Flood this time (both the humans and Covenant were better prepared). It also shows how the aliens are more like us than we had thought. It ends with the separation of John from Miranda and Sergeant Johnson (who are now buddies with the Arbiter) and also Cortana, who is now waiting for a need to blow In Amber Clad and High Charity to kingdom come, while also toying around with Gravemind, taking in some more info on Halo, the Forerunner, and the Flood without having him stop talking.

If you listened to the dialogue in Halo 2, you'd know the Covenant didn't expect Earth to be the human homeworld. But now they know it is.

Halo 3- the real battle on Earth. And I swear to god, if Bungie has another 10 levels on a Halo I'm going to kill something.

So, you think there will be a Halo 3?

Think?> We/Everyone already knows. :cool:::happy::
of course there will be, and they will continue to make sequels until the halo franchise pool is bone dry.

Not necessarily, they will just continue the story as it is in the books.

There's no way there can't be. The ending in Halo 2 literally sets up the next mission, but never goes to it. If it wasn't for the "final words" from the characters, it could have very well been a briefing for what they have to do next.

Wasn't the ending when that big weird tree looking thing was talking to Cortana when it wanted to ask her questions?

It was a giant Flood, but yeah, that's the very end.

The whole ending includes 343 Guilty Spark explaining how the Halos can all be remotely activated and then switches to a brief scene where Master Chief arrives at Earth in the ship that can activate the rings.

Nicely stated. I think we'll be continuing the story some time in 2007-2008.

Or could be a Xbox 2 first party game?

584958987[/snapback]

Without a doubt it'll be for Xbox 2. If they don't bring it out on Xbox 2, I'll even be dissapointed :p

But I don't know, as I think Bungie has said their next game won't be a Halo game. So it might be even farther than 2008 :s

you are talking about Grave Mind.

also i believe that earth is the remote activator for the halos. or sumthing on Earth e.g. The Ark of the Covenant. because that is what guilty spark said is the remote. he calls it the ark.

I know I was talking about Gravemind :p

I'll bet $50 the Ark is the ship Chief was on at the end of the game.

If the Ark is the ship, why does the Prophet of Truth need to fly it to Earth? 343GS said the Ark can activate it, unless there is something on Earth they need, or Earth IS the Ark. Also, should tie in with something about New Mombassa, which is where the Prophet of Regret landed, and then slip streamed from, basically taking the whole city with him.

He went to New Mombassa, got what he wanted, and zipped away. There must've been something on Earth that lead him to Delta Halo. How else would he have spontaneously wound up there?

That ship is the ark, I'm totally convinced. I believe there's something on Earth that will protect the Prophets after Halo's activation.

There was a whiteboard shot in the making of DVD that said "Earth_Ark_09" and had a picture of that ship crash landed on Earth.

halo 3 will be delayed like the rest of them have so far :p maybe they need to actually FINISH the game before they set a release date..

and i agree with some people and say NO MORE HALO MISSIONS!

i wanna fight back on earth... that whole halo thing was just sooooo damn long...
