:p Got mine... $384. No dead pixels, no backlighting leak... Playing WoW widescreen...heaven-like.

But true this screen is BRIGHT... of well one less reason to go outside for tanning.

Got the coupon (40% off + $65 off) from www.techbargains.com

How do you check for backlighting as well as Dead Pixels?  Yes is a lame question.

If you don't notice any problems, why would you want to go out trying to find some? Is finding defects going to increase enjoyment of your monitor?

got it yesterday, no dead pixels but a bit of backlight issues.

i wonder if it's good to be that bright for your eyes this screen?

btw, what's that usb cable that goes from the LCD to the pc? i don't get it

I think the cable is for using the usb ports.

I also reduced bright to 0 for the osd.

USB hub. :)

im not searching through 95+ pages to ask this.... but would i be able to play games ok w/ my FX5900 on this widescreen? i wouldnt want to have to run under native b/c then it looks crappy... like hitting HL2 with an ugly stick...

Was just wondering no need to get all sarcastic.

I wasn't being sarcastic. I'm just saying if you dont' see any problems with it why would you want to find some?

what a ****ty monitor

You're an idiot and obviously wouldn't know a good monitor if it slapped you in the face.

well mine arrived today, just finished setting it up now :D and i must say it is pretty :D

as far as i can see i have no back light probs, but i do have some dead pixels

2 are dead, 1 is 2 or 3 inches left of center and down about 1 or 2

the second is right below the e on neowin in my bookmark bar on firefox :p

and i have 1 that is stuck on cyan, but you dont notice it unless the screen is compleatly black for a little while

i am pretty sure dell wont take it back for 3 fudged pixels so i guess i am happy, i will see how it goes playing WoW tonight :)

OH NO PLEASE NO.

half-life 2 in 1680x1050 works smooth and great, no lag.

but when i play pro evolution soccer 4 its so weird, its most of the time laggy and ghosting, it can only set non native resolutions so i play with 1280x1024...

can anyone help me please.

    • Thanks for liking it! 😊 That's Arch Linux with Gnome.
    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
