TBH, I'm not that bothered about the DM mode at the moment, none of my buddies could afford a copy of the game atm & I much prefer to play against them than strangers...

For everyone that is having the problem of it NOT WORKING any more, post these details to see if there is a pattern. CPU, Video Card and Version (i.e. Preload/DVD,CD)

Pentium IV, nVidia GeForce FX 5200 and DVD Collectors Edition

It does however have the new NO-GAMES-WORK-ANYMORE feature, well in my situation anyway.? It verifies the DVD and then nothing.

You guys are effing retarded - stop jumping to the conclusion that EVERY SINGLE UPDATE BREAKS THE DAMN THING.

You have about 50,000 people all over the world trying to download this while it's verifying your account and the files and then your computer has to process this. And yeah, the forums are down to make room for bandwidth. Anyone's bound to have some snag here and there - mine did the first two times I tried to start/connect, but guess what - I DIDN'T S&*T MY PANTS AND GO RANT ON A FORUM. Next thing I know I'm throwing toilets and explosive barrels on the laggiest server I've ever seen.

Give them a chance to get this thing out to the masses before anyone takes a high dive off the Citadel.

EDIT: I'm going to create a server (can't vouch for the lack of lag - if I figure out how to name it, it'll be NEOWIN HL2DM #33 and the password is "effing" no quotes)

It would be a public server, so no pw protection. Not sure as what location it will be, since we have Seattle, LA, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, and NYC at our disposal.

Or maybe it's the fact that the forums can't stand up to 10000 people simulataneously trying to access them and they'd rather save people the trouble than try and serve up 5 minute waits for pageloads....
