Need help finding drivers for hardware

Recommended Posts

My friend has a computer, and he doesn't seem to know anything about them besides turn it on, and use it to play games.

His harddrive crapped out on him, and I told him to go buy a new one. Now that we have the harddrive installed, I re-installed the Windows for him. He didn't have the disk, so i used mine. Luckily, he still had the serial on the side of his computer or else he'd have to spend even more money getting his comptuer back up and running.

Now that I got the Windows XP installed, I can't activate it online because i have to install all the drivers for his computer, such as for the network card.

I don't know **** about his computer because I didn't build it, and I he doesn't have any of the disks that came with it (dumb n00b  ).

I'm looking in the device manager and he needs the drivers for the following:

- 56k Modem (not important)

- Built-in sound (not important, he has a SoundBlasker Live)

- Network Adaptor (very important)

How would i find out what drivers I need to get for the computer?

Any help would be appriciated. :)

- 56k Modem = Try and find the make or just use generic drivers on Windows XP

- Built-in sound = Find the motherboard make and model and get the drivers from the makers website

- Network Adaptor = Fine the make and model and get the drivers from the makers website

If you can post any futher information we can search for the drivers...
